No one has seen the stats on this new auto loot device......

A good question. I don't think anyway has adequately explained this perverse behaviour.

Money at its root is a form of rationing. When the richest 85 people have as much wealth as the poorest 3.5 billion (50% of humanity) it is clear where the source of poverty is. http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jan/20/trickle-down-economics-broken-promise-richest-85

I doubt they will outdo a fully fit Noctis with Salvage Drones, so basically this is already going on. As intended.

Noctis....."looting device"....what's the freakin' difference ? Nothing.

I kinda agree, this was the only rubicon addition that I'm worried about. I think they will adversely effect mineral markets and thus the entire economy to some extent. Not game breaking, but a bad idea none the less in my opinion.

Mobile Tractor Array: will automatically tractor in a single wreck at a time (tractor speed is slightly faster, no top distance released), and loot it.

Does not salvage.

Has internal loot storage(size not determined yet), and no "reinforcement" mode. Will drop loots if fired upon and destroyed.

Deliberately designed to "not be as effective as a dedicated salvaging ship".

Doubt that the mineral market will fall out of the sky due to these new units.

Relax people there is PLENTY of real stuff to panic over about this game, but this unit is not one of them.

Somebody will have to build these things, and they will presumably require minerals to produce. If they are popular, lots of minerals will be used in construction, and if not, then who really cares? And if destroying them is popular, then even more minerals are needed for replacements. And if fights break out around them (yeah, right) even more minerals will be consumed.

Yup.

Funny, the panic over this in some quarters.

When the Noctis and it's capabilities were announced, it seemed to be a unanimous "Thank God !"

Also funny is how many people didn't bother to see the words regarding their lack of Salvaging.

In the same way, folks are jumping with excitement over the new Whiplash Warp with Rubicon, and didn't bother to read the part about anything cruiser size and above will actually be in Warp longer even than now. lol.

Selective Reading rules the day I guess.

I know this goes against everything that GD stands for but for once I'd like to see the stats before people engaged headless chicken mode and started aimlessly running in circles.

Here's a clue just for you. Now a days only meta 1 through meta 4 modules drop as loot (alongside some charges + drones) and their mineral content is **** poor.

Your 'print minerals' idea is stillborn.
