Good intentions do not make a man right, sir. As Ms. Lianne has clarified the rules, you'll see that I was, in fact, right. You never had any "opening" to do such a thing, as it was a violation of the rules.

Call me all the names you like. I am, at the very least, a literate pig who understands how auctions work.

Yes, she did clarify the rules - after - I had made my previous declaration. So, from where I stand you overestimate your reading comprehension skills. Inability to differentiate a turn of phrase form an insult is just all the more proves that point. Next time you try to be clever, don't. It just isn't your strong suit mr Quaid.

As the rules have been clarified, I will of course abide by them and defer to miss Lianne's decree in this case.

Allow me to show you the crystal clear rules:

"The first bid should start out at 25mil and new bids should be in increments of 5mil minimum . . ."

No reasonable person construes this to mean you are allowed to underbid the current bid.

You seem to think you're playing the white knight by saving the damsel from the evil Vea without actually confronting Vea. You basically decided you wanted to try to push some other innocent fellow out of the way in hopes that Vea would just voluntarily let the damsel fall into your arms. If you want to paint yourself as some kind of gallant, romantic hero, you should actually, you know, do something gallant. I recommend you start by outbidding Vea.

Standing around and hoping the bad guy gives up the hostages isn't the same thing as rescuing the hostages from the bad guy.

You, sir, are a shameless self-aggrandizer--a quality that I normally admire, make no mistake--yet you do nothing worthy of aggrandizement. Want to be the hero? Be heroic.

*UPDATED AS OF TAHIR'S BID*

Update with about four and half hours to go, with no judgment calls, which I Ieave to the esteemed Sister Lianne! Frankly, if you want to be sure of a win and no adverse decision, I'd suggest beating the current bid.

Norrin.. any chance you could see your way into giving me a modest gift of say a mere billion ISK, pocket change really, for cutting through the spam and kindly providing a clear update *winks*

EDITED: The error at hand was rectified.

I'll have nothing more to say henceforth, aside from bidding or inquiring directly to Ms. Lianne about auction rules.

I would think this would be above officers of PIE.

What is being sold is time, not bodies, Mr. Rekmus.

I'd also like to point out that you used the word "above," by mistake I'm sure, which gives your statement the implication that PIE officers would be below acting like wanton Gallente.

The fact that a young (by time in service) Lieutenant thinks he knows more about the standards of PIE officers than a Captain who's been serving faithfully since before you even submitted your application for capsuleerhood is laughable at best, but considering that your entire message is one mistake after another, I don't know if I can take it in any serious manner.

Also please don't try to bring up anything you may have done prior to becoming a capsuleer, as any work you could have done there pales so much in comparison to the power of a capsuleer that it is rather insignificant.

So my recommendation is that you put in a little more time, double check your future communications, and get back to minding your superior officers.

Yes that was a mistake in my writing. I was obviously upset and I believe that my point came across.

Time in service does not stop one from making mistakes and misjudgments.

This is a disgrace. Selling ones self even for a good cause is immoral.

That may be fine for you and your corp but PIE should set the example for the rest of you.

So my recommendation for you is to go read scripture and rethink your decision.

Respectfully Praetorian, whose efforts in the warzone I have and continue to admire, I must disagree.

I cannot speak for the esteemed Captain Saint, Cardinal Graelyn or Sir Shutaq, but indeed, I have meditated on the scriptures before agreeing to participate in this bit of fun to support the Amarr Militia and its efforts. As Sir Shutaq, Sister Shalee and myself have made clear, we aren't selling ourselves but simply our time - which I intend to use trying to bring the successful bidder to the Light besides having a pleasant and entertaining meal and conversation in an idyllic setting. One must do one's duty, however that duty may come to us.

This verse struck me as important and guided my decision.

"All things were created by the Divine, and so the glory of our faith is inherent to us all;
When thine heart shines with the Light, thou shalt know no hardship;
When thine actions are in Light's name, thou art immortal.’"
- The Scriptures, Book of Trials 2:1

Perhaps you can place a bid on me and we can discuss this further in a more contemplative setting?

230 on Graelyn. Not sure why Ms. Lianne is letting genocidal automatons vote.

My plans to wait until the final minutes to place a bid have been ruined by pressing personal matters. On that note, I shall bid 450 million ISK on Katerina Tzestu.

Whew! I was afraid Derrick might be bidding on behalf of another unknown rogue or scoundrel on me. Well now I can rest easy, sort of. Will my knight in shining armor come in?

Lunarisse, when you mentioned this auction to me, I thought it was a hypothetical, In fact you phrased it in exactly those words. You weren't trying to be evasive were you?

While I have no idea who the top bidder on you is anymore, the Angel, the Pirate or the Goonswarm pilot, I hereby place a bid on the Flower of Nayheen and the Rose of Sarum Prime, the fair Lunarisse Aspenstar in the amount of 600 million isk.

Such things I have to do for my Lady. We SHALL talk later I am sure!

I have withdrawn my bid for Ms. Aspenstar. The top bid for her is Anslol, although, Mr. Price will undoubtedly top that. The bid you have to beat is 105m.
Perhaps you will be more appealing to her, given your True Amarr heritage.

True Amarr, but as the 7th Son of a Holder, I am well down the list of suitors. Still I am blessed that my Lady sees something in me.

Far be it from me to undervalue my devotion to her or to imply as such - even if she tends to act without thinking things through, notwithstanding her protestations about "mediation". But then, I shall have a talk with her.

The bid remains!
