Why would DUST be OpenGL? It was made for the Playstation!

It uses Sony's own graphics API PSGL - which is only based on OpenGL ES 1.0 - and has many extensions specific to the hardware of the playstation.

Even th Xbox 360 uses a custom form of the D3D API.

Because OpenGL is actually available on different platforms? Even if it's special version it's closer than driectx that is locked down to windows.

Being available on many platforms has nothing to do with it, since DUST is PS3 only. So there is no point in porting it to OpenGL.

Even if they were to do it, there would still be lots to change, as I wrote PSGL is only based on an OpenGL version for embedded systems (ES) - and heavily modified at that. I'd rather have them use the time to port to Mantle for the new consoles. Making DUST and thus Carbon ready to support the upcoming console generation - and as a byproduct also AMD GNC graphics - is more worthwhile in my opinion.
Then again if CCP wishes to establish Carbon for portable applications - for example EVE related tools - it might make sense to rework to OpenGL. Though I somewhat doubt this to be the case, since they seem to rely on CREST and third parties to provide such services.

But before drawing a conclusive opinion, I would like to consider the reaction of Intel and Nvidia in matters concerning Mantle - both still haven't made any statements as far as I know.

Edit:
Also it is a bit unclear to me what CCP plans to do with their technology, but if they wish to market Carbon for game developers - something they said they will not do - one of the factors to success is to support many APIs - including OpenGL.

Edit2: Well, it seems the "Mantle"-dream is over now, since Microsoft actually killed it. (Sony did not give a statement yet as far as I can find.) The Xbox should just finally die.

It fucks up the colors somehow.

Tried with Radeon HD 5750 with drverversion 13.9
Tried with Radeon HD 7790 with driver version 13.10 beta

Hi Migillix. Thanks for the report.
Did you use the printscreen in client for taking the screenshots? Or do you use other programs to capture the screenshots?

there is a workaround, go to launcher window > settings and start with dx9 instead of 11.
