Again with the camp-hate

tut tut

Its like this is thread going down THAT path again

For real. You probably know my story. Wrists don't really have a thing to do with sexual orientation in either direction.

But comments like that do tell a lot about the person saying them, and most indeed.

I'm not really sure what you're getting at here, but "limp-wristed" is not an offensive term. It has nothing to do with sexual orientation, if that is what you are imagining.

Agreed.

And no sarcasm or nonsense

I believe it referred to weakness, originally intended to characterize someone who was too flimsy to hold a spear and a shield. Probably Greek in origin, given their love of foot soldiering.

"Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

Go ahead and try to make me have great denial over my own personal experience with that phrase over a 48 year period of witnessing it's usage.

It's simply not going to happen.

Limp-wristed means someone who always finds everything "too hard"; generally adverse to any effort or present discomfort for future reward.

Hey, if you misunderstand the meaning of a word, that's your problem, not everyone else's.

I could start taking unattributable offense to any word i want, doesn't mean others need accommodate my idiosyncrasies. Ironically, that kind of thinking is perfectly in-line with the running theme of people who are just too emotionally weak in real life to even play a gd video game without crying the entire time.

Talk about a running theme here.

I'm about to go to bed, so I won't be around for a few hours to see or respond to immediate replies to this thread, but I would like to see some discussion about encouraging players to leave NPC corps. I know this discussion has occurred before, but it seems to have fallen off the radar, and a conversation with some associates of mine has sparked a few ideas that I think we can hash out and debug.

We should focus on encouraging players to leave NPC corps, any idea that forces players to leave NPC corps, then you might as well close those NPC corps. I'm not convinced that there is a problem, are high sec wardeccers out of industrials and rookie ships to kill in trade hubs?

I've played this game alone, for one year on two accounts I played this game mostly doing industrial and spreadsheets in space, because I joined this game because of the market and player made modules and ships. Some people actually love that part of the game, I didn't stay in NPC corp, I made a 2 man corp and never got wardeced.

Everyone who play this game long enough will eventually do PvP, we have got to give people time and be patient not forcing them out into pvp corps with arrogant statements.

I remember back when I started, the "encouragement" was that the belts were (more or less) always barren.

Belts only respawned on Mondays and Fridays (consequently, Wed/Thu was the best time to sell), and the mining corps in the area I lived in were usually getting the Dense Veld and Concentrated Scord in short order. Not to mention the "problems" with the can flippers and other undesireables that prey (more) on those without a ticker.

These days, there's no incentive to have a ticker ... belts spawn daily, flippers go yellow to the entire system, and other vaious nerfs and buffs that have affected other professions all combine to make it no better or worse to fly with a group. About all a group (in hisec) can offer is POS Labs.

I posted this idea in F&I after reading the few pages that were in this thread last night as an "incentive" for being in a corp again.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

I once knew someone who took grievous offense at being called a claustrophobic. "I am NOT! I just don't like enclosed spaces!"

You posted the personal detail. You are going to get both positive and negative responses, just like in real life.

None of which permits you to project your daddy issues onto my own familial interactions and thereby accuse me of child abuse.

You were completely, 100% in the wrong for that.

Limp Wrist:

"Limp Wrist is a United States punk rock band, who formed in 1998. Featuring members of Los Crudos, Hail Mary, Devoid of Faith, and Kill the Man Who Questions, the band plays short, fast hardcore music, and covers themes concerning the gay community in their live performances and lyrics."

......to 'retake ownership" of this oft abused phrase. Apparently YOU are the only one unaware of this use of the phrase, which is honestly rather freaky (I'm taking you as serious and not Troll).
