Light speed is too slow....

"Yeah we are going to have to go right to LUDICROUS speed!"

Current we use AU as a means of warping between gates, it takes such a long time to travel using AU, can we introduce Parsecs PC/sec for battleships??? It took me over an hour to travel 30 jumps. While it's fun to just watch spaceballs while clicking each gate during long travel times it really kills immersion.

How would people feel about having AU and Parsecs as a travel speed? I would pay ISK to travel faster. I would pay Aurum.

Every day in every way I improve my skills and get better.

changing units increases velocity?

I'll have to run that past my professor.

A Parsec is a UNIT OF DISTANCE, NOT SPEED or TIME. Roll

I thought this got famously cleared up in 1977. I guess not.

It matters not.

Warp AU speed used to be twice as fast as currently, but was nerfed by half around 2005 or 6 and with good reason.

So this thread is both pointless and useless, and the matter was settled more than 7 years ago. 7.

Why don't we get flying mounts in game - perhaps a Time Lost Navy Proto-Drake? You could fly to any system in EvE in a few minutes AFK...

We already have had added to the game WoW Portals (Titans, Portal Generators), Hearth Stones (Jump Clones), why not go all the way to WoWifying EvE and add flying mounts CCP...

Jebus

Seriously, space by definition is large, consecutive whinefests by newbies used to instant gratification have resulted in a lot of the game turning into the same old cheap easy rubbish to be found in other games, EvE is not other games, its supposed to be HARD.

...and slow down too. Have you flown an Orca on Sisi lately ? My god.....the pain........

"The current design has the fulcrum set on T1 Cruisers. If you're flying a T1 Cruiser with no modifications to your warp speed you will not notice any difference warping after the patch. Every ship that warps faster than a cruiser will see their acceleration speed up (and therefore see significant reductions in overall time warping) and every ship larger than a cruiser will see their acceleration slow down (and therefore spend more time in warp). The small ships are being sped up by a larger degree than the big ships are being slowed down, so the average warp speed of an EVE ship is going to be getting faster.

You're already moving MUCH faster than lightspeed when you warp, not to mention jumps and gates.

For reference, light takes 8 minutes and 20 seconds to travel 1 AU.

Actually, we must not be travelling at relative velocities anyway as

YOU CAN SEE THINGS IN REALTIME

I want to be the guy who nitpicks and tells you that ships that warp aren't actually faster than light,
because there is nothing faster than light.

Electromagnetic waves inside the warp bubble have the same speed
as electromagnetic waves outside the warp bubble.

To be precise: The ship inside the warp bubble doesn't move at all.
Actually, nothing inside the warp bubble moves during warp travel.

Edit:
And to be even more precise: One could say that not even the warp bubble moves.
It changes it's relative position, yes, but not because it moves,
but because it changes space surrounding it.

To compare:
A common misunderstanding is that people say that galaxies within our real universe drift apart,
which isn't the case. It's just that the distances between galaxies increase,
because the size of the universe increases.

Mind. Blown.

End of nitpicking.
