as the title suggests I noticed this was happening when my client wouldn't load and had to add the evefile.exe to the exclusions for it to run. Obviously the question is why is this being picked up in the first place ?

Well, EVE does modify files on your hard drive (i.e. local data files).
Overzealous antivirus programs will pick that up as virus like behaviour sometimes depending how high your sensitivity is.
Also I would note that you should now see a performance increase for having stopped virus checking EVE constantly.

However, also good question as to why that particular build generates a check while others haven't.

Odd. I use AVG and have never had it pick up any Eve related files. Did it say what threat type it was?

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."
