Well, that escalated quickly.
On the off chance that OP decides not to ragequit, a few suggestions as a former miner?
Mining is a lot less boring if done with friends, and quite a bit safer with someone watching your back.
Guarding miners is just as boring as mining, yes... but if you at least have someone to chat with while doing it both jobs become quite a bit more tolerable.

If your corpmates can't or won't help you with this you might want to think about hiring some newbie mercs to watch over you? Having more people with their eyes on the sky helps distribute the burden of maintaining situational awareness, and you may make a few friends in the process. They help you, you help them get a start in their field as well.

Hi Sec is never going to be completely safe, but going it alone makes it quite a bit more unsafe than it has to be. I'm not saying you can't mine alone, just that it's more risky... Safe solo mining is mentally exhausting as you spend most of your time scanning the horizon for threats; your guard will eventually slip, and Murphy's Law dictates THAT is when the bad thing will happen.

People like you have been complaining that they don't like EVE since it came out. And it's been growing every year since it came out. Clearly, pleasing people like you isn't how CCP makes its money and they know it. You can adapt or you can leave, the game will do just fine either way.

I like this now. We would get decced and if our dropping out or going to alt/holding corps pissed them off and interrupted their playstyle and day, then it's just the game working as intended. I ruined someone's day.

I don't think she's a troll, I think she's just misguided and disillusioned. It's not unusual for new players to come into the game expecting the same kind of themepark experience other games offer, it's just that those new players don't usually manage to make the whole Eve community hate them in a single day. I don't think any legit troll could.

Miners are far better than any PVP pilot in the effect of DPS. I will show you

PVP- I shoot HS miners and blow them up to stop thier production. 440dps

Miner- sigh, this again

PVP- I'm so cool I killed a boring hulk, master will be pleased.

Miner- ya know what, I control 3/4 of the market in this area hmmm

PVP- plays station games

Miner- starves the market for a week of all his products (probably in the billions) 700000000000 DPS

Miner- Market prices rise to where the miner makes a killing and then hires mercs to bomb HS PVP out of the game. 10000000DPS

PVP- I mad... I'm going home to rat because everything is expensive and I lost 3 ships

And the cycle continues. You see, miners are the ones you should fear. They sit hours on end building and mining. That right there is a tell tail sign of an unstable person (that you want on your side)

miners are completely unable to manipulate the market because they're on the very bottom of the production chain and are unable to see past the arse of the guy on the next rung.
