It does not even take a full year to do all of it.

So what do you train next? What will you try to do next? Mining is not the end of the game for eve. It is just a start.

I can understand a lot of players get started with mining. and you can always go back to that for a source of income later if you choose, but after you train for other things and start earning isk faster it opens other doors for you. Unless you really enjoy mining. Players are free to do what ever they want in eve. Just know that their is always a cost to do business.

Don't you mean every high sec character?

I don't believe CCP wants to make null totally self sufficient, that would be as silly as making all ships in high sec impervious to any kind of destruction.

Its time to stand up against the bad empire based CEO telling falsehoods about what new characters can accomplish and pushing them towards an in game experience of drudgery and loneliness keeping them in the shadow of ignorance for at nest their own profit at worse apathy towards all the experiences that Eve has to offer.

Its basically because they want a) to look like pirates but there are no pirate hats in EvE for Aurum b) "Carebears" rarely fight back so its not dangerous to be mean to them...

You left out the most important point:

- Mining indulgences may be purchased for 10 million isk per character, and are good for one year, subject to forfeiture.

You did not have a mining permit, which is a crime and the agent in question did the right thing in confiscating your mining equipment. Unlicensed mining can be very dangerous to your health, so if I were in your position, I'd go ahead and THANK the agent for his help.

I understand it , I really do, this is actually a really smart business model because its the only resource that has 0 competitors.. imagine if every miner payed u 10mil isk...

Do i think they will get to keep doing it? Nah eventually even CCP cant ignore the implications on game play in my opinion, they probably already trying to figure out how to handle it.

But in the mean time we watch and see

IF it said MUST be purchased, id be inclined to agree, but as a rule lawyer, i must point out that "may" is optional
