Have you ever been away from your computer, but wished you could check your skills, mails, or even market orders? Well, you might not realize there is a way to do all that from the convenience of your Android mobile device!

The popular Aura app for Android is the focus of our newest Community Spotlight.

I have Aura installed on both my Tablet and phone. I love it as it keeps me up to date on my market orders, in-game mail, and helps me plan out skills to train next.

One of my favorite features is the widget, which gives you a local time conversion of when your next skill will be done training. No more forgetting to set another skill to train due to the skill finishing at 2AM.

Its a great app, only have some delays in loading skill timers now and then. But it gives all informations everywhere. Very handy!

This sounds very interesting, downloading as I write. But a question comes to mind: will CCP allow for this app to be upgraded to not just monitoring skills and market but altering them as well? It would be absolute gold to have market and skill management on the go, especially if you are away from home on holiday and need to sell stuff or change skill queue because you didn't have any waiting skills that were long enough to last the entire holiday...

This would be a use for CREST.

We have no real timescale for CREST release, and they still have to detail which endpoints are made available.

And here's a question. Do you trust the makers enough to let them change your skill queue?

Because someone without integrity (none of those in eve) might do something like pausing it for 5 seconds every 30 seconds, if you're part of a certain corporation. Or on their red list.

I'm not saying that I'd think they makers of Aura would (I don't think they would) but something to consider with any write access.

Very true, and a real concern, I agree. The only feasible approach then would be to play the ball over to CCP: Could you please set aside some manpower to make an official app for this? In this day and age there is an app for most everything, so why not EvE?

This. I have almost entirely quit using all other fitting and skill tracking programs since installing NeoCom on my IPhone. Artem is easy to get a hold of for technical issues and is constantly updating it. While Aura is also an awesome Android app, I know more NeoCom users in and out of game.

I've used this for some time now. Great program! It keeps me up to date on skills, mails, orders etc when I'm not able to be tied to the computer.
