The ultimate point of this thread is to point out no one wants to change YOUR style of play,

Do not force yours on others.

What would you do to defend this game having nothing but highsec? Thats all this is about, keeping a balance, understanding that highsec is the yin to pvp low/null secs yang and should not be tampered with or risk destabilizing the 10 year prosperity this game holds claim to

I'm a High sec Carebear and a low sec Cat and mouse PI'er. I watch local for ppl that have ganked before. Also if there is even a hint of gankage by the chars portrait I start D scanning. If they show up I dock. Look without that threat this game turns into a repetitive mine this or mine that. I enjoy evading the low secers and drinking thier tears as I warp out. They really feel robbed that they had a divine right to my kill mail. They didnt get it and they cry. I drink their tears, its awesome. I am good at what I do and I always have 1000km bms aligned to where I am going to warp into so I can insta warp out. Learn the game. There are tools to avoid getting killed/ganked. If you are afk you deserve to die.

This guy gets it. Because he gets it and because he knows how to play the game, he is not a carebear.

OP, people go after carebears because they freak out, cry and rage, and do things like make forum threads like this one. It's funny. Also, sometimes going after people who don't know how to minimize the risk of attack can be extremely lucrative.

There you go. By all means, do continue to make a fool of yourself.

Defending a style of play isnt crying

Making a whine thread (which i have enjoyed some good cheese too btw) does not defend the playstyle. Going in game and DOING something about it does.

Every expansion changes someone's playstyle in some way and the people it affects will cry about it. The general responses are "Adapt or die", "Die then Adapt" or "Adapt, die then adapt again".

No one is forcing anything on anyone though. You're in a PVP zone in a PVP game, being shot isn't someone forcing anything. It's them playing the game by the rules.

Did you not think that its because, this is EvE? This game is meant to be radically different from other MMO's. Here you choices have consequences. If you want to go out and mine, in an exhumer with no tank fitted, then that is your choice. When you get ganked you have nobody to blame but yourself.

The hate, stems from the fact that people do this, they mine afk in a ship worth 250mil+ and then they come to the forums and complain when it goes bang. They honestly think that the gankers are in the wrong! The game gives you the tools to avoid it, if you choose not to use those tools then you have nobody but yourself to blame. But these whiney little bastards do it anyway.

To me this is like a small weedy man, going up to someone like Mike Tyson and calling him as many names as possible then acting surprised when he breaks their jaw. Its beyond belief.

Just for the record, I mine. A lot. I make BC hulls on my alt in order to feed my PVP habit. I have never once been ganked, sure I’ve had people try. But I’ve never lost a barge to a player because I pay attention, I use the tools CCP gave me to keep my boats alive.

Theres even pvp'ers who dedicate themselves to killing highsec miners...

What is the big deal? Why do some of you go as far as to make crusades against Hisec?

So a person plays a different type of EVE then you? Why does that frustrate you so much? I for one sit in a hangar all day staring at my hyperion , thats EVE to me... literally thats what ive done the last month, thats why I pay $15 a month... Why should that bother you?

Its not like theres a lack of pvp'ers, you guys blow each other up all the time. So why try and push people who just wanna fly around in a ship and blow up rats, or mine the heck out of an asteroid.. or like me just like big ships in general and stare at them?

Let me break this down for you, I've only been here a month and I can already tell this will happen.

If you push into Highsec your gonna lose casual non pvp players to other space games , especially Star Citizen. Sure you can go with the mentality "Haha leave noob" but lets face it , your economy, and CCP's income, largely comes from that sit around and do nothing playerbase.

Whos gonna mine all that ore for the ships to be made so you can keep blowing them up?
Whos gonna pay for all those expansions that you like getting free so much?
Whos gonna buy the plex and sell to you for ISK so you dont have to subscribe?

SO please someone explain to me why we all hate Carebears? Just because you cant touch their privates without getting blown up by concord? Is that what this is really all about?

I dont usually like to get involved in Eve crap, I like my little hyperion in her little station, its probably always gonna sit there and keep being my money sink. But its starting to get annoying that I read all these threads and suicide ganker mottos that have no sort of logical thought about the effect obliterating highsec would have on the game.

YOUR EVE WOULD NOT EXSIST WITHOUT IT, THIS IS WHY CCP KEEPS IT, LUCKILY THEY ARENT AS DUMB AS YOU.

Thats my TL;DR.

By now, the things you posted are pretty much well establish gospel in the bible of high sec tomfoolery lol.

Why don't PVPrs just pvp with each other? They are. The whole game is pvp. If you undock, you're a PVPr. Ervy mineral you mine or npc you shoot takes value away from the possessions of other players. The trade off for this gain you are experiencing is being vulnerable to counter actions by others, including the exploding of your ship.

At the end of the day, the "anti-pvp" crowd are really saying "why don't you leave me alone to gain stuff". Sorry, no, they will not leave you alone. you aren't leaving THEM alone when you make isk in EVE.

As for the question of "who is going to mine all the ore" and such, the anwers is "the miners who come in and take over mining smartly after the dumb miners who got killed in a pvp game all unsub".

You post demonstrates that you don't really understand EVE online.

I really wish one day every highsec player would quit... could u imagine the fallout from that? Why is it so hard for you to see what a detriment to this game it would be, why would you risk the current balance of this game and its continued exsistance just so you can have your way.

What you seem to fail to understand is, that a lot of people here in EvE have multiple accounts, where one account is used to fly in Low/Nullsec, and the other one is used for Hi-Sec activities.
So, if every true hi-sec player quit the game, a lot of these accounts will be taking up the slack.

Yes, prices would increase, but a balance would be reached.

I'm not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example.

well that's the risk. lol. you cost it into your overall profit and loss.
eg: every week you make 100 million on mineral sales, and you get ganked once in a 20 mill ship. profit for that week = 100-20 = 80 million. As long as you are net profitable, you are winning.

I'm amazed every time I read things like this. In a game well-known for harsh PVP, losses that mean something, general backstabbing, a tremendous metagame, and overall dev sanctioned douchebaggery...a certain subset of players thinks they should be able to "play the game" without even being at the keyboard, with no consequence. It boggles the mind.

In CoD, if I go AFK, other people shoot me.
In WoW, if I go AFK, my avatar stands there and does nothing.
In Starcraft, if I'm AFK, I get WTFzergrushed.
Metal Gear series, I go AFK, a guard sees me and kills me.

But, in EVE, I go AFK...and come back to an ore bay full of rocks to sell!

Now, for the whole "PVPers need us!" rant...no, we don't need you. PVE, industry specifically, is pure numbers. It's not hard. Thing is, why should we do it, when there's plenty of naive folks willing to grub in the rocks for us?

oOReikaOo Michiko wrote:

Sure there is. It's the ultimate tank of "not being there". You turn it on by paying attention to what is around you, what's on the overview, and who is in local. When that -10 gank team jumps in your system, you see it, start aligning out, and be off-grid and in-station by the time they land.

7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided. --Eve New Player Guide

Why would any game as complex as EvE do BETTER as a play environment with people who don't WANT to play or think their way out of problems?

This is a game
