What's really scary is that our national debt is just 23 billion USD shy of matching the GDP.

What's even more scary is how little that matters, and how much people like to ignore taxation and reducing the military as solutions.

The republicans in power would sooner see the country burn than have their corporate buddies pay taxes. For all the rhetoric the nominees are gearing towards flat tax plans we'll never see anything in action because the senate will block any measure that raises taxes on their buddies even if its absolutely necessary.

Gentlemen please calm down, Out of Pod is not a place for political discussions, the last time the thread was locked. If you wish to make a political spat take it to another site.

Shame on you.

While we know that the republicans are owned by the globalists you cannot deny that the democrats have certainly been for rent by the same people at least these last 4 years.

If you can play this game, that's a sign that you can think. So try a little harder and you might see the real difference between these parties.

Democrats may be corporatist bastards, but at least they try to avoid turning the country into a Theocratic Randian Plutocracy. Corporate power maybe, but at least it doesn't have a nice big dose of "**** the non-Christians."

Republicrats - they are two faces of the same statist party. They both suck, stop being one of the sheep :)

Lewis Black once said: The two party system is a bowl of **** looking at itself in the mirror

"Some say that he is actually dead, but the Grim Reaper is too afraid to tell him." "Some say he is the 3rd member of Daft Punk and he did the vocals of "Technologic" song. All we know is,he's called EVE Stig"!

Ooo, for real fun, don't forget to check out the unfunded liabilities, and check out those money supply numbers, lol.

As long as you realize that the Fed is not responsible for most of the money supply (that, my friend, is what banks have done, which is why the printing of $1 Trillion did zilch to the inflation rate) then fine. As for unfunded liabilities, please realize that those are pretty much meaningless, and are only important if the entire global economy collapses and the United States of America is on the brink of complete collapse, e.g. we would have much more important things to worry about than unfunded liabilities.

This isn't entirely accurate. They aren't the same nor are their offenses against our nation equal. It's a close race but Republicans are just ahead on race to be the scummiest.

Look closely and you'll find the difference:

A Republican will steal your money and give it to the rich.
A Democrat will steal your money and give it to the poor.
Except for the Democrats that steal your money and give it to the rich.

All government is horrible, government should be kept at a minimum. The less power it has to abuse, the better.

The same goes for corporations of course.

The challenge in civilized society is striking a balance between governments power to govern and limit the corporations power to abuse the people without giving the government such power that it becomes overzealous and stifles any ability for a company to grow.

Much of that also hinges on the people with power in both government and business being genuinely good, and well educated with exceptional restraint on top of that. No wonder everywhere is screwed.
