So far this week I have seen nerd rage by folks saying they wanted special treatment because they had cancer, were injured service men and even autistic. Nothing surprises me.

It's a game people. Like pong.

Damn, I usually try to keep up with the "I deserve special treatment because......" posts, but I missed the service men and autistic ones this week. Searching now, I need entertainment.

Pong is apt regarding the OP in more sense than one.

So a quit post with added "EvE is dying" undertones?

Always amuses me when people that moan about EvE becoming more like wow are the first to quit. Does the sandbox not conform to your exact specifications? You're rather vague about your actual reasons. You seem to make out that you don't like the restrictions, without pointing out which ones. Of course EvE creates arguements, it's divided between those that want chaos and pvp everywhere, and those that just want to do their thing in the safety of empire. Reality? It caters to all playstyles, regardless of how much people moan about it being kitty online, or ganking everything that moves and can't fight back.

Usually i'd say that you'll be back, but the biomass means you're probably serious, which is a shame. You didn't even give someone that chance to haz your stuffz?? EvE is unlike any other game in the sense that you get what you put in, there will always be something to aim towards. There isn't another game out there like that. Every other game has a ceiling that you eventually reach, and after that its just the same (until an expansion and then it repeats). EvE you can constantly reinvent yourself, head somewhere new, make new friends and have new objectives. And everything you do and achieve adds to your continued development, and you can always have something to achieve.

Personally, i'm in it for the long haul, and am interested to see where i'll be in 30 years time.

Hope you come back someday! Cool

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

This thread has been moved to Out of Pod Experience.

The rules:
32. "Quitting" posts are only permitted on the Out of Pod Experience channel.

CCP recognize that during the course of gameplay a lot of friendships are made between players and that sometimes if a player is taking a break or departing from the EVE universe that they would like to say goodbye on the forums. Posts of this nature are only permitted on the Out of Pod Experience forum, and must be civil and well worded.

I cannot understand why you would complain if you have had 8 good years playing a video game. For me you seem to have got great value from the product.

OP sounds a bit extreme himself. Get bored with EVE, delete characters and make a great big post about leaving. Just seems like there's probably more behind this than is being said.

Doesn't matter. Good luck with your next game.

Let the dude just leave, seriously.

Nobody has typed anything this entire thread that needed typing. None of it.

YOU are not that important. Really, you are not.

ed: It's like you are all trying to parse why on Earth a person would order the fish instead of the steak.

It seriously matters not a whit.

I love the idea of posting in a thread about how pointless it is to post in that same thread.

You obviously never played IL2 Sturmovik. A niche game like this one, but with a real solid community back in its peak. If every thread and post in this forum was made by Chribba, it still wouldn't come close to being as helpful and have as many third party sites as they did.

People made single and multi-player missions, skins, data bases, specialty forums and much much more. Even the trolls trolled with wit and charm instead of abrasive ignorance..

Absolutely. Oleg and co. have a kickstarter for a WW2 version of DCS. You might want to check it out. Hopefully it has a better future than the abortion that Cliffs of Dover turned out to be.

Edit: and can I have your... Oh, never mind, you biomassed.

Rise of Flight is excellent, if you like WWI air combat. It's done by a Russian team as well.

It is kinda funny to see that all quiting posts that are only allowed to be posted in oope have to be manually moved by Isd's in here first. Blink

Done by the same team that did IL2 Sturmovik if I recall correctly. In fact you can buy RoF: Channel Battles Edition on Steam and it comes with IL2 Sturmovik (at least it did when I picked it up a couple of weeks ago, haven't installed yet).

I would infinity +1 you, but that road would lead to a lot more pointless posts and once we get to it, I am not sure what INFINITY x INFINITY is anyway. Twisted

Haha, doesn't quite capture the playground feel of "infinity times infinity times infinity plus one, and also you have girl/boy germs" though.

What was that OP about again????

OP, take a break. Play a few games. But you WILL be back. All other MMOs are crap. This game has its flaws, lots of them.

But you will not find another game like it. And trust me, player single player space games will suck. Trust me, I know.

I think what we have here is a new variation of an old meme.
The person about to quit wants to add some leverage effect and dramatization to his leaving. So instead of the usual " I am quitting eve and also canceling my 25 ice mining accounts", in this case the OP went with a single account, but allegedly with an old veteran character, he just cannot post on this ominous character since he is already biomassed.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.
