This is probably a stupid question, but I am going to ask it anyway. You know how under each ship it says " X % increase per level" Say you are in a cruiser......now the destroyer and frigate ship skills have NO bearing on the X % increase to the cruiser right? Like say I am skill level 5 in cruisers, but a level 3 in destroyer. My Maller's medium turret damage will be increased 25%. If I go ahead and train destroyer up to level 4, it has no bearing whatsoever on my cruiser bonuses right? The Maller's turrets will still only be increased by 25%. Correct? or Incorrect?

Correct.

This actually goes into how the skill system is designed and why simply having more total skillpoints will not necessarily make a player more powerful.

What this means for you is... if you specialize in ships and weapons within a certain category you can match (or come damn close to) a multi-year veteran player in that specialty without having to spend years training.

That's what I thought......and what my goal has been. But as usual I started to overanalyze things and began to question to my logic. Glad yall could reassure me. I SALUTE YOU SIRS.
