Hi.

I'm looking for intel on POS defense reaction time.

I'm pretty aware that battery from POS have they own signature resolution, which would lock any ship in few seconds, especially guns and missiles battery with theyr 250mm scan resolution.

But i heard of scout "gliding" on POS, like having time to decloack, and warp out smoothly.

So, my guess is that there is other mecanics involved, like how muche time before the POS / batteries decide to attempt a lock and an agression on an enemy ship.

Is there any delay before the battery attempts any lock ?
I heard that battery will change randomly of target every 30 seconds. Is that possible that battery will make a new lock attempt every 30 seconds, and then you might get lucky and fall in a window between to lock attempt ? Or not-be-so-lucky and get locked the second you land on grid or decloak ?

once the battery is locked on your ship. Is there time between Lock (yellow brackets) and agression (red bracket) ?

Thx for your answers... I googled it, but what I read was never very convincing.

(sorry about the english mistakes)

weapon emplacements have their own locking times, you'll note that in addition to a signature resolution for tracking, they have a scan resolution attribute. From this, you can calculate exact lock times. The pos will fire the instant its weapons lock you.

When I was doing bomber camping efforts on hostile jump-bridges my logs showed that it took 12 – 14s, after I decloaked, before small POS weapons started applying damage to me … enough time to align, uncloak, lock a target, bomb, get a round or two of torps off, and warp relatively safely. I assume that POS EW modules take longer, because it was always the small guns that showed up in my logs. Medium and large weapons take longer but were never a concern for those types of ops.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

Thx, that's a good lead. A little bit empiric, but kind of answers I was looking for.

I don't know the exact times, but I do know that sensor damps and ECM will take upwards of 30 - 60 seconds before they render your ship useless (unless you're using drones or smart bombs). Not sure about the warp disruptors or webs though.
