Basashi - raw horse flesh served with miso and garlic sauce.

Yipes. I've done it with Kobe beef, but horse, no thanks.

Salmiakki it was, a sweat liquorice candy with addition of salty ammonium chloride, lots of it. But only the first few drops, then it all went smooth. An aquired taste.

And most recently I could not swallow pork liver that was still raw inside. Had to fry it again.

Fresh mussels on a beach - to amaze my classmates. Almost threw up when tried to chew them instead of just swallowing.

Should have got an old bucket filled it with sea water, built a small fire and boiled them the sailors way.

Dude, salmiakki is the best. After salmiakki every other kind of candy becomes a bit boring. Good, but lacking a certain kick.

Then there's also mämmi, which looks like poo and most people hate. As a finn I can't hate that either...

The most recent disgusting thing I ate was a low-quality croissant that had ham and cheese inside of it. Put it in the oven for 15-20 minutes, take it out and ...enjoy. The whole thing just got soggy for some reason, turning into a piece of wet pastry with some pretty bad ham and pretty bad cheese inside. There was also some of that cheese on top of the croissant.

Truly disgusting. It went into the trash after a couple of bites.

I had some pretty awful food in the LaGuardia Airport food court last week. Subway sandwich that somehow managed to contain all stale, limp, petrified or semi-liquified ingredients. I think I'd rather have some of the stuff mentioned in this thread than that.
