I'm certain that probably I'm not the only one here that has thought of this, nevertheless I would like to know your thoughts on this matter. Today I was wondering if it were possible to make LMJD to allow you to select a custom range for the jumps, say like 20 km increments . It would be a nice addition to the module since the original 100 km standard range isn't always practical.

This keeps getting requested, so let me make something clear:

The MJD essentially allows a BS to blink quite a distance without losing locks, and the only thing that stops it is a scram. This is a very powerful effect, so it NEEDS to have some drawbacks. Those drawbacks are a static blink distance, and giving it the ability to "choose" it's blink distance is frankly, too powerful in PvP situations.

Fit a MWD if you want to travel 40 or 50 km's, that's what said module is for!

After that we can add an "I Win!" button for missions!

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there.

Frankly I do not think it will be too powerful in PvP engagements.

Some Meta/faction/dedspace/officer versions with less cap use better fittings and/or different jump ranges would be nice.

A long time ago you could warp to your target under 150km away and without a can or structure, this was way to op as ability to either /run (tactical retreat) or gank someone.
The initial idea of said MJD was to make it so blaster ships only could use it because of their poor range and mobility but then the final module is what it is and it's not bad/good, it's a good compromise.

In short, being able to reduce warp range might actually be quite bad for the greater good of the game.

I find that it generally goes between 80 and 110km , it's a bit varied. Usually approach something, hit MJD, and land on 0km if the approached target is within that 80 -110km.

That said, noone says you have to go 100km in direction A, you can go 100km opposite to A, making distance between you and A easy +150km so you can select a warp distance via warp to ....

I will support the idea of a T2 module that can load scripts to allow for 2-3 ranges to select from (I was thinking 50, 100, and 150) - so that you can basically get within 25 km of your desired destination.

Give it a longer spool up time, higher fitting, longer reactivation delay, and a larger sig bloom
