queations about the vengeance

I get to play with a new toy tomorrow. I am veryrecently fully spec'd for the vengeance and I'm going to take her out of t he hangar tomorrow.

4 x rocket II

mwd
scram
web

DC II
400mm plate II
Ancillary rep
mapc

acr
nano pump

The mapc/acr are so I can fit the 400mm + rep and mwd. I'm not in FW space. This is is for solo & heavy tackle in small gangs. My question is: Of I meta the dc & plate I can fit a neut or even a nos in the 5th high slot. Or if I just meta one of them I can fit an auto cannon or a blaster. Should I? Is it worth the possibly significant loss of ehp?

Any other suggestions?

if your running as the heavy tackle dont sacrifice your ehp for that other stuff. imo just not worth it. from what i can see the fit "looks" sound for what you want to do with it. I mostly fly the retribution rather than the vengeance so lets hope for a 2nd opinion on it Blink

I wouldn't plate a vengeance i think.. Its kinda tight on fittings.

I always prefered to go fast in it, its already pretty much the manliest AF when it comes to tank anyhow.

Yeah, I generally run more ganky than people expect on the Vengance, catches people off guard a lot and still plenty of tank for frig fights.

I'm pretty sure I run;

Rocket II x4
200mm AC

MWD
Scram
Web

DC
SAAR
BCU
A-Type Thermic Plate (2-4 Mil)

Anti-Em Pump
Bay Loading Accelerator II

People dont expect Vengances to do like 250 DPS out to the edge of scram range, plus it has really good cap, ~8k EHP and a 160-170 Heated tank with paste.

vengeance used for tackling should have prrimarily 125s...

400mm Reinforced Steel Plates II
Damage Control II
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II

Limited 1MN Microwarpdrive I
J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I
X5 Prototype Engine Enervator

125mm Gatling AutoCannon II
125mm Gatling AutoCannon II
125mm Gatling AutoCannon II
[Empty High slot]
[Empty High slot]

Small Trimark Armor Pump I
Small Ancillary Current Router I

I do not know what kind of dps it has, but it got a 20k ehP tank, 22k fleeted and towards 30k with a CS, which should be considerably more compared to what an active setup can generate in a short time frame. If you are running outside of lowsec, dualprop and a 200mm plate might be better.

I've had a couple good fights with the fit that I posted but changed it up a bit. Nite it is dual rep with an cap injector... rigs fir damage and range.... the tank it's actually better and it hits hardee

Confirming dual rep fit is balls for fighting anyone competent. They'll just pull range and warp. I like to fly mine in 2 variants, the MWD/Scram/Wev version which has a nice balance of gank and tank, and the AB/Scram/Web version, which is all tank.
Here are the 2 fits:

Vengeance: Shamelessy stolen from TrouserDeagle

Highs:
Rocket Launcher II (x4)
Small Diminishing Power Systems Drain I

Mids:
Limited 1mn Microwarpdrive I
Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler I
Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I

Lows:
Pseudoelectron Containment Field I
Coreli A-Type Small Armor Repairer (2 mill more than the C-Type)
Coreli A-Type Thermic Plating
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II

Rigs:
Small Warhead Calefaction Catalyst I
Small Bay Loading Accelerator I

This fit is a blast to fly, and is simply beastly in the tank department. For the AB fit, I simply fit tank rigs instead and upgrade to a DCU II, and fit an AB II of course.

I wear my goggles at night.

Any spelling/grammatical errors come complimentary with my typing on a phone

Quite sure you never EVER saw that tight fisted bastard using a A-type repper :P

But that is indeed his fit otherwise. Its excellent, i'd recommend it for using a veng.

The only difference in my fit is that it is the ab version, but with a sar II / saar combo and I replaced the web with a cap injector. However, after flying the thing I really miss the web and find that I can perma-run the sar II and just pulse the saar. I haven't checked to see if there is enough cpu to swap the injector back out for the web but that is my plan.

Heh, yeah the A-Type rep is something I threw on. I definitely think it is worth the 16mill. Also, if you've got even more spare isk, and A-Type Nos will fit quite snugly.
