Is it still possible to do this? I know the original formula, but have seen people say that its not almost impossible to make something 'unprobable'?

Its no longer possible as the Sig Radius/Sensor Strength formula was capped.

Poo.

Is there a method for minimising the risk of being probed out?

The original formula still works exactly as it used to, there is just a cap of how "unprobable" you can get. So stacking ECCM still makes you more difficult to probe. I believe it's still possible to make certain ships so difficult to probe that you need a bonused ship and a set of probing implants to find it.

Nope, with the last set of probing changes, you can probe even a fully probe resistant ship with no implants. (Good probing skills still required, implants still make it easier)

Max probe resistance, you want the ratio of your sig radius/sensor strength to be around 1.0, I'm not sure its the right number, but I think 1.04 is the cap. So for example, 104 sig, 100 sensor strength.

i thought it was 1.08. Anyways i did finish a lowsec escalation a few weeks ago in a caracal with 1.08 ratio and i did see combat probes in dscan circling me for a good 20 minutes from what i think was an anathema before i finished the site and took off so i think its still a somewhat useful deterrent... or maybe he just wanted to spook me since there were no other people in the system.

it's still fine.
youre still unprobable for everyone who doesnt have virtue implants, which is very close to everyone.

Some medium slot modules would like to have a word with you!

they can have all the words they like, you still need implants.

With new Scan Rangefinding Arrays you don't need implants anymore.

unprobable is not possible in that someone with skills and implants and a probing ships can find you. It IS possible to be unprobable if the prober is lacking any of them in certain ships you are in, but to do this it will be difficult on your fitting.
