Much of EVE's story has incorporated some of the darkest factions sci-fi lore has ever seen. For awhile, pre-Incarna, a number of players could duplicate themselves as something truly worth fearing. Now, still, but with more difficulty.

Everyone remember the Gurista / Blood Raider / Sansha logo character backgrounds?

As EVE Online has cleaned up itself, appearances have always taken a back seat in fear of CCP forgetting focus on internet spaceships.

Many are starting to come out of the woodwork, especially with the appearance options of the collector's edition considered, and are prospecting revisiting what you can do for character customization as well as customization of the presently pretty useless captains quarters.

Cybernetic peg-leg? Pet slaver hound? Eye patch? Stripper pole? Epic mustaches? Serpentis Inquest black implants? Corpse display case?

The life of crime and fame deserves a say in future appearance options coming out, especially where it considers making that captains quarters anything but useless.

Am looking to include ideas from here or to simply direct those "good" influencers to a potentially interesting forum topic (located here).

Appearance stuff seems to be taking the route of extras for AUR. Not sure if that's good from player perspective but CCP surely loves it.

What he said about the peg leg. It's more the ability to go nuts with augmentation (something they're already hinting at). Hell, in the Xenocracy chronicle, the capsuleer is pretty augmented and fearsome.

CCP should host an event announcing WiS and peglegs and lets C&P cut off the legs of anyone interested in a peg leg.

IRL you also see people alter themselves or their appearances to a point where they're actually hindered by it - Simply for vanity, sub-culture fashion or to send a message to those around them.
So, the idea of a peg leg, cybernetic replacement limbs and so on may not be that far out.
Also, as already said, our bodies are cloned. When you get tired of having only one leg, you just activate a new, fully functional clone.

Heck, just like some people get off on asphyxiation IRL, some fetishists of New Eden might like the rush of clone death :D

They already got cybernetic arms coming out in the collector's edition. xD

I want it to be called my "no-no-spot case" and fill it with my favorite corpses with silly cartoon arrows pointing to where I touched them.
