NPC's Tracking Is Now Insane

I've been recently doing missions and noticed NPCs are getting really good consistent hits. So I investigated this further and found a few things.

Looking at the combat log I found the NPCs getting big hit numbers even with resistence over 80%. I looked at the NPCs themselves during combat and they adjust their position so finely now that their ships turn almost perfect to your position. Battleships for example twist and track with such precision they're able to make big hits on even fast targets. Flying my Tengu at over 600 m/s, the battleships are still able to strike heavy damaging hits, I've even see hits of over 400-600, which I've never seen before while doing missions.

WTF has CCP done to the NPCs? Smaller ships track so well now, especially laser turrets which seem to consistently hit, and seem to ignore high resistence with silly random damage. The same can be said about rails, I thought it was due to the buff so the NPCs ships got it but it just seems to be the quality of hits have been vastly improved by the precision and tracking of the NPC ships. I find this very annoying, I mean I don't mind that missions are harder but this is just silly, watching huge battleships twisting around with such agility.

If anything the missions should be much harder, i have not noticed the changes you speak of.

Resistance to being hit?

Big hit numbers meaning damage?

Which is it

I get hit for 400 with 81% EM/90% Therm on a Tengu fly at 622 m/s with a sig radius of 150, it seems odd an NPC battleship can do that. Being hit for 400 by an NPC is a huge hit considering what I'm flying and resistences.

Actually no, battleships should not be able to twist around like they do considering their mass and maneuverability

What terrible HS NPC BS is this that is doing you 400hp and you think its a lot?

HS is it?

As for BSes "twisting around", A) hasnothing to do with their statistics and likely hood of hitting you

B) Sounds like a glitch at your end if they seem to be doing it more than they were

Only 400 damage from a BS?

Sounds like you've got it easy.

I actually look at the log quite a lot and yes I've never seen such high hits from NPCs considering how many there are and how often they fire. Seriously though, you actually think a 400 hit on a Tengu is normal, considering I've never seen nothing near 400 on my Raven and that's has a sig radius of 430 with lower resistences.

And just how did you come to that conclusion, it's a server-side game.

You normally solo level 3s in high sec in your Tengu and lolRaven then?

Seriously, 400 is nothing

Maybe if you provided more information, we could help rather than mock

If your understanding of game mechanics is matched by your understanding of how video games actually work

I can see how you may be confused

For the record, how a ship is positioned or positions itself has no bearing on its ability to hit you. Only its relative speed and its paralax in conjunction to you matters. 400 is nothing damage from a BS, whether you're taking that damage on a Tengu OR a Raven, it's still nothing. If you want to see some REAL battleship damage, I've got a Navy Megathron that pumps out 1000dps and tanks for over 250K ehp. If that's too much for you, I will fight your Tengu with my Myrmidon instead. That MIGHT be a challenge for me, but given that your Tengu is probably mission fit, maybe not, and I understand if you want to keep doing easy stuff like missions instead.

Also, your EM and thermal resists might be high, but that doesn't mean the NPCs you're fighting aren't doing kinetic and/or explosive in this one case that you decided to check combat logs, but 400-600 a hit is still **** all damage for a battleship.

What are you talking about L3's. I solo L4's, have been doing for about a year, that's not obvious by the fact I fly a Tengu and skill level and say "battleships"........

Server-side game, yes Eve Online is, agains what makes you think it's a problem my side?

A lot of people in the mission community think CCP stealth coded NPC bs's to hit T3's harder by negating the Sig radius in the dice roll, basically making them hit you as hard as they would a BS.

It's hopefully only a quick fix until the nerf highsec missions and/or the T3's, apart from the legion which everyone agree's needs a buff.

Some guy's done a comparision on a few missions in a Tengu and frappsed the changes to show the diference from a few months ago and now on the same couple of missions.

As you can see eyebrow raising results, ofc this is just a theory of a few people but could be the reason.

You are talking about scales of damage concurrent with running low-grade missions

And you are using a ship designed for actual combat against difficult enemies

Therefore it is safe to assume you are doing low grade easy-mod High Sec missions

As for server/local, EvE is not somehow "beamed" to your PC without any work done by your video processor

If you think your card can't glitch, under the wrong impression you are

Are you just trolling or what? You actually think NPC battleships hitting me for high damage on a server-side game has something to do with my GPU? LMAO

Hey, maybe I should format my drive and resinatll Windows because someone like you can't put together a serious answer.

Hooray for a response containing something that could approximate usefulness. Here were my favourite moments of utter ignorance:

Ramona McCandless wrote:

Well done. Are you suggesting that a ship's mass has no role in agility calculations in EVE? Because it does.

Ramona McCandless wrote:

That's interesting. How do you decrease the angular velocity of a target when using turrets? I manually align my ship with the target's velocity, something which requires agility. Maybe you have a secret method.

I have no idea if the OP is right and I don't particularly care since missions were included in the game as a practical joke. But if you are going to troll at least try and be somewhere around the ballpark of correct.

You keep saying 400 is nothing but I guess your combat logs must be full of L4 NPCs hitting you for way over 400 damage then. I think not, if you can prove it then show me you combat log of a High sec L4 NPC doing over 400 damage per hit with 80% missions specific resistences.
