I'm happy with my MSI laptop - going to buy one with GTX780 in the next spring because my current (3 years old) laptop cannot output enough FPS in Star Citizen (30fps in EVE CQ on max settings).

I had... a dell xps gen 2 which made me a believer in xps gaming laptops.

if you know someone who has access to a corporate discount with DELL (for example: anyone in the US military)... might want to give that a try. deep discounts. such an account also has no tax.

iirc my $3k laptop was $1500 for me.

I am in the same boat. I am looking on getting rid of my mac laptop so I can actualy play games. I am looking under $1100.

Any advice. I know very little, and what I do is about macs.

How will will eve play on a laptop like that. I work out of town 2 weeks out of every three so a desktop is not an option.

For a few ($50) dollars more I strongly recommend the MSI GS70

    • Some highlights
    • 12GB Memory
    • 500GB Storage HDD
    • 128GB OS/Cashing SSD
    • GeForce GTX 765M
    • Intel Core i7 4700HQ(2.40GHz)
    • 17.3" non glare LCD Screen

    Newegge Link

+1 for Asus. That said, the specs on the Alienware looked more appealing to me, even though I have a personal dislike for the Alienware brand.

I'd personally look for an i5 or i7, decent amount of system memory, dedicated memory for the GPU and Win 7 on an SSD.
