Hey.
One question, does the Adaptive Nano Plating and the Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane effect stack? They basically do the same thing (I think) but they are different modules.

Thanks.

The effects stack like it does with many other modules, but remember that the effects of multiple modules affecting the same stat are stacking penalized.
Which means that the 2nd module only applies ~89% of it's effect to the total, the 3rd does ~57%. Blink

For damage resistance modules there is one exception, and that is the Damage Control module.
The effects of those are never stacking penalized, and always apply in full.

Individual attributes are subject to stacking penalties, not modules. I wrote a brief explanation here with and everything there applies to armor mods as well.

In this case, each resistance provided by the EANM is individually stacked with each resistance provided by the ANP. Since the ANP provides a smaller bonus, it will do so at reduced efficiency. Should you then activate an active hardener, it would be first in the stack for that resistance type, bumping the resistance of that type from the EANM down to second and the resistance of that type from the ANP to third.

DCIIs are stacking penalized with RAHs.

The way these modules work is...

- the module or rig with the highest stats will be 100% applied.
- any following modules/rigs that affect the same stats as the first module/rig (in order of the next strongest to the weakest) will have their effectiveness reduced by 85%, 50%, and so on.
- the general rule of thumb is that after 3 modules or rigs that affect the same stats have been fitted the ever diminishing returns make it not worthwhile to fit more.

So why would you choose to fit a regular Adaptive Nano Plating versus an Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane? Because the former only requires 1 Powergrid to fit while the latter requires a fair bit of CPU (see: the ANP is much easier to fit than the EANM).

Sometimes a 4th module is worth it to fit... but thats generally for modules with large base stats (like 50% and not 5%)

Its worth noting that implant bonuses do not get stacking penalized, nor do HP or cap multipliers (as in trimarks, CDFs, bulkheads, PDUs, cap memory cells rigs, etc) or recharge time reducers (shield power relays, shields rechargers, cap rechargers, cap power relays, PDUs)
