That's because they don't have to...

Bastion is almost a necessity for Marauders.

That said though, even if pirate bs's did have bastion, they also have quite a bit more EHP than Marauders.

Well hang on, the bastion is a necessity per se, it is just extremely powerful. It might be considered a safe practice after the patch to pulse it when its needed for your tank or damage application, and to move towards the acceleration gate (assuming missions) when the rats start to thing.

"They're not immune to scram and disrupts, even when in bastion.
Don't get this confused, just because the target is immobile doesn't mean you don't need to scram them"

Bastion makes you immune to ALL ewar, including warp scrams and disruptors

The way I've been running, I MJD out, bastion and take out targets. Once I've only got 2-4 targets left, I stop bastion cycle and MJD to gate.

Normally by the time I finish the last 2-3 targets(which Marauders can tank only due to active rep bonus out of bastion), i'm able to jump through the gate and MJD is ready to go again.

CCP killed the base hull HP so much that survival outside of bastion is much less likely.
Not to mention that if you're using bastion as a standard practice, you can drop a tank mod and rock some more utility/dps.

My old Golem fit had 2tps, cap booster, shield booster, and 3 resist mods.

On test server, I have dropped a resist and added an MJD.
This means I'm able to do missions much faster than I could before because travel time isn't an issue.

However, in order to do so I must use bastion... Otherwise I'd cap out really quickly due to low EHP, thus requiring more boosts from a less effective shield booster.

If your ship blows up, you go the the shop and buy a new one. Normally people have spares already available in their station.

Marauders are mass produced ships, not some limited edition AT ships.

Yes, cause we all have multiple billion dollar ships and the billion dollar fittings that go on them....

Don't fly what you can't afford to lose.

Also don't post duplicate threads.

Yeah... saw that one coming.

If no one ever flew what they couldn't afford to lose, then no one in Eve would have ever gotten into a bigger ship.

So, just to be sure I understand what your point is here.

You want to be able to have a module, that gives a significant bonus to tanking at the upfront cost of being locked in place, suddenly to have the restriction lifted?

In other words, there you are, running your mission, you activate your Bastion. You can't warp out if it gets too much. BUT WAIT! You can bypass the restriction keeping you in place by pulling the wire out of your PC. How clever! Take that CCP for thinking that I have to have a consequence to this active tank bonus that I'm getting!

And now for the less sarcastic reply.

The price you pay for using that module is to be locked in place. If you were able to bypass that restriction so easily then there would be little point in having it there, would there? End of the day (and speaking as someone who has lost ships to DC's in a variety of different ways), if you can't take the consequence, don't use the module.

Hal.
Why yes, yes I am going to shoot you.
