I have been training Spaceship Command, Gunnery, Drones, a small sprinkling of Charisma skills. My current plan is to skill these areas up as much as necessary and then do a remap Intelligence and Memory. I will spend a solid year getting the Intelligence support skills up before I do my next remap. Before I do the Intelligence/Memory remap I plan to have the following Spaceship Command and Gunnery skills:

Gallente Frigate 5
Gallente Destroyer 5
Gallente Spaceship Command 5
Gallente Cruiser 4
Gallente Battlecruiser 4
Gallente Battleship 4
Gallente Industrial 3

Gunnery 5
Small Hybrid Turret 5
Small Blaster Specialization 4
Small Railgun Specialization 4
Medium Hybrid Turret 4
Large Hybrid Turret 4
Motion Prediction 4
Rapid Firing 4
Sharpshooter 4
Surgical Strike 4
Trajectory Analysis 4

All other supporting gunnery skills 4

Is there anything critical I have missed in Spaceship Command and Gunnery? Also, is this a viable plan in the first place? (I am not worried about Drones so much because I can still train them fairly well under my remap and I will not need a lot of Charisma skills.)

It really depends on what you plan on doing with those skills. Without knowing that, I'd recommend cruiser V (definitely over destroyer V) - it opens many interesting ship choices. Don't forget Advanced Weapons Upgrades V, although it's a long train it's definitely worth it. Also think about fitting/tanking skills, they require PER/WIL too.

As was said, AWU 5 is concentrated win sauce. Also the armor and shield resistance skills should be pushed up to 4. Thermodynamics needs to go to 5. The ability to overheat just a bit longer has won me more fights than i can count. Gallente ships are heavy but fast which begs for mwd. You will want to have your cap skills up to par for that. T2 med guns are pretty important if you plan to fly cruisers & battlecruiser.

Edit: what I really suggest though is that you get eft and build the ships that you want to fly. Then adjust all the relevant skills until everything fitsaand import those fits into evemon. Then just add all the core skills, fitting skills, etc and it will optimize your plan for you, telling you when to do the remap and everything.

Remap to INT = PER and don't worry about it for a few years.

If you plan to do some industry or a lot of drone training, INT > (PER = MEM) or PER > (INT = MEM) is better.

Work on all the skills in the Engineering sections of your skills. Those will assist in fitting and enhancing the various strengths of ALL ships you will ever fly.

My advice with regards to attributes; if you are not too disciplined with regards to what skills you train you may want to remap in a "balanced" way. To do this, max out your Perception and Intelligence attributes. Both are either the primary or secondary for almost all skills and greatly cut down on training time overall.

Ok, here is what I am hearing:

1) My current plan isn't all that great. It's good to know this sooner rather than later. At least I have some skills I can work with.

2) I can do one of the following courses of action:
A) finish getting some more charisma and drone skills then remap to INTELLIGENCE = PRECEPTION.
B) add in CRUSIERS 5, WEAPONS UPGRADE 5, and ADVANCED WEAPONS UPGRADE 5, then remap to INTELLIGENCE / MEMORY.

For the moment, choice A looks better. I will have to sleep on this and then decide what to do. Thank you all for your help with this. I will probably add to this post tomorrow.

As stated Weapons Upgrades 5 and Advanced Weapons Upgrades 4 or 5 (4 ASAP, 5 in time) is highly recommended. AWU4 is not a long train.

I'd look into what you want to fly and then ask for advice. My skills overlap with yours a lot, and I fly mostly Ishtars (lower risk situations) and Vexors (when I expect to be losing ships), plus Catalysts for highsec ganking. But look into what you like to fly and base your training decisions on that.

The truth is, I can't stick with any long term plans. My priorities keep changing, which changes which skills I train. I might join a corp or alliance that requires some set of skills and that throws a whole wrench in the works too. You might be training gallante, then join a nullsec block and only be able to find minnie ships for sale.

Int=Per and forget about it forever. You will not always be optimal but you'll always be good.
Cybernetics +3 if you pvp higher if you don't. If you pvp having a few clones around is priceless.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

I don't think destroyers are good enough ships to be worth training to level 5 initially. Just get them high enough to qualify for cruisers and call it good.

Agreed, the tech 2 versions are not popular at all, and the only players that really benefit from Destroyers 5 are gankers.

Racial Cruiser 5 is a prerequisite for HACs (mostly good ships now), T3s (good), t2 logistics cruisers (very situational but very very powerful), Heavy Interdictors (also situational but powerful) and the tech 1 cruisers have uses too.
