So why did CCP nerf the hyperion?

When I played eve 6 years ago.. it had a full 8 turret hardpoints if i remember correctly...

Was the hyperion OP at one point?

If you think that thing got nerfed you haven't looked into the stats terribly much.

For the same reason as always: because armour repping bonuses aren't particularly useful in most contexts.

Local reps are a ****ing stupid bonus, only really suitable for PvE. Until CCP wises up and realizes that it's not a real bonus, people generally won't use the ships with it.

That, and the Megathron is awesome.

Because they were hoping the Hyperion would be awesome...until CCP redesigned the Megathron and its sexiness eclipsed everything they were trying to do with the Hyperion. Now, the Hyperion sits in the hangar while people fly the Megathron around in what is basically an interactive space (adult movie).



Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

i will stand by my arguement that if the repair bonus applied to external incomming reps... then the bonus would be super popular...

Dude, can you even read? Hyperion is now arguably the best T1 BShip in the game.... that's hardly a nerf. Plus it goes against CCP's longstanding policy that the only good ships are the ugly ones, because Hyperion is the prettiest ship, ever.

My favourite ship is the Scorpion, Ishukone Watch. I have a hangar full of them.
