If you are ignorant as to whether something about to be said could be construed as a 'personal issue or not', you needed better parenting.

In Mr. H's persecution of a 'certain race' (yes, this means the Thread is officially derailed and OVER)......I believe it was more Mr. H's personal issues that were involved, not the ones murdered.

At the end of the day, you take offense to it and only you have the power to control your emotions.

As I tell black people I work and live with, they should take the Confederate Flag and make it their own, take as much power out of the symbol as you can through ownership. So all you homosexuals out there that take offense to the word '***'; stop taking offense to it anymore than someone calling you a ****, ass, douche..... and it will slowly lose the power you all imbue the word with with your massively negative reactions to the word.

To some extent this correct in purely logical terms but in fact certain groups have been persecuted by society as whole and via the legal /judicial system. This has often occured over a very long period of time.

The Roma people, the Jewish peoples, the various African peoples, gingers, and indeed homosexual people.
When i was born the majority of people in the UK thought it wrong for a gay man to be a teacher. Today thankfully that is a minority view. At one point slavery was legal. i don't think i need mention the holocaust.
today we see similar movements starting up against the Muslim peoples , various immigrant communites etc.
Because of the huge amount of abuse and suffering these groups have endured and often still endure ( i would not enjoy being Jewish and playing eve i suspect) certain loaded language that has been paired with this abuse in the recent past has been deemed unacceptable by society.
At some point when homophobia , zenophobia , racism have truely been disgarded in the dustbin of history then the above arguments would be deemed valid but at that point the use of the word "***" as a term of abuse would be not abusive and people would pick a different word.
i find various prejuduces listed above distasteful (aprt from the ginger ones obviously http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVN_0qvuhhw). on the other hand i dislike censorship of free speech even more.

This doesn't solve the problem. Blacks "owning" the confederate flag is one thing, but it does nothing for the reality of hate groups also claiming ownership of the confederate flag.

There's only one solution. Haters need to figure out that they're digging two graves - one for their victims and the other for themselves.

A) Come up with a better insult - this is Eve Online for God sake - it has a learning curve that could make Hawking cry and you use a lowest common denominator insult like that? Use something like "You enjoyer for an alternative lifestyle which limits your access to healthcare and customary rights in some countries"

Or call them a "Missile Muncher" - not in relations to any sexual preference (just to be clear so I don't get a warning) and it can only be used if they are not Caldari - since other races would be the ones munching the missiles that Caldari's launch.

B) The players that reported you need to either grow up or get a thicker skin. Seriously, if someone calls me a name on a game (especially as uncreative as that) the last thing that I do is go cry to a GM. They are either playing GMs in an effort to grief or seriously need to play a different game.

C) Don't whine about it on the forums.
