As a RL Gay Man, I highly resent my kind being used as a derogatory term.

Sorry, that's just the way it is. Choose an actually evil group of people to use for your idiotic name-calling.

Too bad a first offense is not perma-bannable. That would change your mind about things real quick.

????

"You fags"
"You gays"
"You homosexuals"
"You hetrosexuals"
"You non-gays"
"You non-fags"

I can get banned for saying these?

Always found this subject a little bit strange with this "kind" of human Smile

"Oh my god, richard! RICHARD! come here quick! I just saw someone use our kind of people as a way of insulting! Them bastards, always making our kind look like like were not the regular kind. Imagine if we insulted someone else by saying they fall for woman, that would be absolutely outrageous! They should be fined, or locked in prison! OR PERMA BANNED FROM LIFE!"

I'm sorry... truly am but this is just stupid.

This is a great question! My own personal litmus test is to take those phrases above and not use the ones that have been historically and regularly screamed at people being physically assaulted for their color/religion/sexual orientation. Just a personal system I use, but YMMV.

Example for you: I sincerely doubt 4 guys have ever jumped out of a van and beaten a random stranger on the sidewalk while screaming, 'You non-gay!', but I can't say the same thing about a few of the others you included.

You're right, this is just stupid! I doubt you know why, though.

Sexist slurs, like racist slurs are less about the slur them selves but everything that goes with it, the isolation, the loss of jobs, houses etc..
The slurs them selves while they can be hurtful to a degree are just the tip of the iceberg showing the larger problem underneath.

Until they get rid of discrimination and hate laws things will never be equal. After all everyone is all just the same species.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

Best part about it, he received a warning, no ban just a warning nothing else and he already goes into full butthurt mode.
So the lesson to learn here is that if you say naughty things in a public channel you might get told to refrain from such behavior, which is such a harsh punishment that is almost unheard of, yes?

A WARNING, DEAR GOD THE SKY IS FALLING!

I wonder what would have happened if he had received a temp ban or so, when a simple warning already creates this much tears and butthurt.

Sorry but the OP really sounds like a sandy female reproductive organ.

Or, as I believe I and some others pointed out earlier, an attention seeking liar.

Already this thief-of-God's-truth has got away with filling our beloved GD with 4 pages dedicated to pandering to her foul ego

Brilliant logic there SKINE. Intimating that someone conforms to society's heteronormative values should clearly carry the same connotation as that person being of an "alternate", "unusual", or, in much of society's eyes, "immoral" persuasion.

I also believe that as a proud male member of the majority race in my country that I have the right to tell historically persecuted groups what they can and can't find offensive.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

A ban warning for calling someone a cigarette? Or perhaps you used a shortened version of ******, you know the tasty meatball we have in England. Could be though you meant something like a ****** of sticks, an old unit of measurement, sort of meaning a bundle. Dunno, without knowing what context you used it in its hard to say.

Perhaps a ban on slang altogether would be in order.

On a less lighthearted note, it is a bit ridiculous, the sheer amount of abuse that happens in Eve all day long does mean that your very small use of the word *** is in fact trivial and most likely done to grief you because they didn't blow you up. The worst abuse I have ever had was usually from carebears who didn't like that I pvp'd with them, creating content for them and trying to make their game more enjoyable. Some of the mails and local abuse I got would have made my grandmother blush, and she's dead.

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.

I said i will not response to this topic. But here i have no choice but to do so.

If you could read topic and see my posts you would see that i did not actually tried to be homophobic. It was more like spontaneous reaction out there.

If you really want people to help fight against homophobs then , start improving yourself. Because right there i could report people for saying "you are straight" - i could find this offensive right if i were gay ?

Edit : and you should hope i don't change my mind. As i'm not racist or homophob right now. Unless you think i should change myself here.

First step to fight racists and all that kind is to stop being so damn sensitive or else you just ask people for more ... Black people that don't mind if someone will say around ****** are proff that they know what to do. Because there is difference how it was said , and if someone had malicious intents. Because if he had no bad intentions there - you shouldn't be that goddamn upset. Of course if someone is constantly showing bad attitude - it's another story.

If you will always look to find racist or homophob in someone ... then you will always find it in someone. Look for something and you will find it - they say.

This is a losing argument, and it's not new. You should stop.

TL;DR version is that you don't get to throw around language that is hateful and hurtful to entire groups of people while claiming that when YOU use the language, it means something different.

I disagree entirely, it's a ridiculous thing that people get this offended by calling someone out on their sexuality, wether they are or aren't shouldn't matter. Should a homosexual get angry for calling him a heterosexual? Exactly so why should a heterosexual get angry for being called a homosexual. IMO the person who gets angry over this should get banned for being a ******* tard Smile

Dramaqueens.

You can call me your gay dragqueen any day ....

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.

Should i stop smoking when i already got cancer ? Or maybe i should try to prevent it ? Warning is warning - if you don't take it seriously - next day you get banned. I'm not crying - i prevent tears from being shed so people like you can feed on them. So others know that **** like that can happen. And indeed you are far from truth. I'm not banned, it's my first warning and i still enjoy my time.

Will i call anyone gay in any particular form now ? Or even use any abusive word from now ?
Not really. But did this actually change me as person ? Of course hell no.
And even more ! People will use this word in this game. Just not me anymore. They did , they do they will. Ban them all !

And it's not "just words". Much of the active persecution such individuals experience is accompanied by such words. Over time as this gets repeated people associate these words being used with the negative emotions they experience from said persecution. And so these words ARE hurtful and you have no right to tell anyone that they shouldn't be.

Roll As it goes my signature stays true, its all a personal opinion in the end but you guys are definitely staying true to the term dramaqueen. So much offense talking being used in EVE, but as soon as the word "***" drops oh no its so disrespectful! No surprise here, all you heterosexuals.

I disagree

Apparently, she dislikes me using the word "liar" to describe her

She has stated so in several Eve Mails I have thus far received

But, dear, I didn't mean it offensively, just truthfully and as I don't intend you to be upset, you have no right to be upset.

Well, of course. Because everyone knows that heterosexuals and gays are treated with absolute equivalence by society.

Hint: there's a label for people who think they are, and it's not "dramaqueens".

There's real reasons why your Eve character doesn't do /dance.

my apologies if you are heterosexual because then it may be extremely offensive because at some point in time there have been people beaten up over this by other extremists!
