Want option to disable ship self-rotating in hangar view

I notice that when in station hangar your ship is rotating around it's own axis on the docking pad just like it is rotating outside your balcony when in CQ.

Although I accept the ship rotating by itself when in CQ as that is the only way you can see it from all sides (though I would still prefer it situated on the docking pad for "realism", even if it becomes very small and distant), I do not like the ship rotating on the docking pad for the sole reason that it's a docking pad and not a showroom (it's a challenge for the station/ship personell transporting stuff too and from a ship if it's always spinning around it's own axis).

So I would be begging for an option to turn the rotation off and have the ship always pointing in the same direction like old times.

As for rotation... Remembering back to the time before Trinity, there was an option in the Esc-menu where you could have the camera slowly orbit around the ship to avoid the hangar view becoming too static and I would rather see something like that (as an option), then having the ship rotating itself on the pad.

I can agree. I don't like that ships rotate in place. I'd much rather have them stay stationary.

On this note, I know that in Tranquility, some of the bigger ships like Charons and Orcas don't "wobble" while they are hovering like they used to, and like how other ships do. Will the "wobble" of bigger ships be brought back? As it is now, they look like, well, bricks that don't float-they're just static.

And will the camera zoom out to its original distance as it was prior to the release of Captain's Quarters?

Recommendations:

-enable ships wobbling in hangar view (pre-Captains Quarters)

-add more missions (NPC fleet vs. NPC fleets that actually shoot)

-STOP NERFING EVERYTHING!

You're not the only one who misses that pre-trinity ship spinning option.

Wasn't that simply the difference between loading and not loading the station environment?

As for the topic, well I was glad to see the ship spinning in the hangar in Sisi but the OP presents such good reasoning for such a small thing that I'd be happy to see the spinning ship replaced by a slowly spinning camera. Not super fussed though.

Agreed!
I figured this was just a bug at first, but I guess not.

I want an option to disable the ships moving around in amarr stations.
I want an option to disable my ship floating in the air.
Also i want an option to disable whiners.

No, disabling station environment gave you just a still image. There was a separate option to have the camera slowly orbit the ship. When Trinity was released that option disappeared. Personaly I didn't use it that much, but I'd prefere that over the ship rotating on the pad, wich I think just looks odd (personal taste and I understand others have different views on that matter).

However, I like things being optional so players can chose for themselves how they want it. As hangar view is something only the individual player sees, there should be room for some ability of customization to personal taste, as it has no impact on others. So I wouldn't mind seeing options to have eighter traditional view (same as pre-Incarna), orbiting camera or ship rotating on pad.

I dont know how important this idea is.

Really very unimportant, but look at this expansion. Look at how all the little things are so big a deal to so many people. Lots of little things make a lot of people very happy. That (and nebulae) is literally the theme of Crucible; hundreds of little considerations forming one big "Sorry, we'll do better", and look around. Everyone is actually really, really happy for all these things.

Every little touch up is like another scrappy burr removed from the edge of Eve, and all these little polishes are so easy for them too.

This has been fixed! The ship will no longer auto-rotate in the hangar view :)

Because, you know, "spinning ship" =/= "ship spinning".

I didn't play before Apocrypha, but I'd also like to see this camera spinning option. It sounds awesome and would make ship spinning less static (for when people aren't spinning their ship to some awesome beats that is)

Good to hear that this is not a bug.

On a related subject, the in-dock camera bobbing is making me seasick and also making the hangar textures shimmer. The ship is completely stationary. I hope this is a bug (my bug report on this subject was "filtered", whatever this means).

They said it's "by design".
I assume they made it so that noone can withstand hangar view, just to force everyone into "Captain's holes"...

Yup. Just got this in an email response to my bug report:

"The problem you have described as an intended game feature, and not a bug."

And there I was, thinking we've moved beyond these types of things... Sigh...

Well, technically, it's not a bug. But just cause it's not a bug doesn't mean it can't be changed.
I know it has been requested/ignored many times before to stop with the camera swaying non sense, but this expansion seems to be focusing a lot on fixing minor annoyances just like this one.

So perhaps we make a little bit of noise to remind them of how much this 'intended game feature' really annoys the crap out of us.

Edit: I would suggest starting a new thread as it is a bit off topic from auto ship spinning.

I don't like this either. I'm glad they stopped the ship from rotating, but you're right - I don't like the "camera shake/bobble" of the most recent build, and I don't like how the ship looks static and doesn't wobble-again.

Can I speak for many and say "we'd like the station hangar from pre-Captain's Quarters back" just to provide a reference point of what we're looking for?

Recommendations:

-enable ships wobbling in hangar view (pre-Captains Quarters)

-add more missions (NPC fleet vs. NPC fleets that actually shoot)

When ship is docked, i want to see it DOCKED.
I.e. not randomly turn around, float or what not.
