And why not ? I'm not banned. I'm just shocked a bit by GMs reaction ? I'm trying to warn you - so you are not getting banned yourself for one little word.

It's general discussion and we generally discuss if GMs should be so serious about such things or they should just talk to player that he should improve or they will do somthing about it. Going straight with warning to permanently ban account is a bit much.

You used an offensive homophobic word in a public channel.

It would have been the same had you used a racist word.

The GM acted appropriatly and you absolutly deserve your warning.

If you want to talk like that do it in a private channel where by passers don;t have to hear it.

So basically i got quiet big problem. And it is a bit wall of text incoming. Sorry for my so-so english in advance.

Yes it is big problem.

So here is story:

I was deplexing one system with dragoon , hopefully looking for fight aswell.
And the opportunity arised - other dragoon - neutral one did appear and i took the fight. It was close fight , but then when we both were close to dying ... suddenly i see keres on d-scan aswell. Of course i did recall my drones and just left - thankfully it was me who sucked other dragoon. I was right they were from one alliance/corp.

After that i left - not mad at all - as my ship was still alive. I said it could be good fight , even fight with equall ships and probably similar fits there. Then i said : but keres had to come and interrupt. A bit disapointed i said also"you fags". But thats it i left minding my own bussines to repair ship and find other stuff to do.

Yes this is important part of all that ... nothing else. completly nothing else offensive was said there. And i got logs to prove it.
Suddenly the keres pilot - obiviously disapointed that their terribad trap did not work out there - said "it deserves to be reported". I was like - ok it's not like i was harrassing them 24/7 or went full ****** ... all i said was "you fags". Sure it was offensive , but it's EvE online not My little pony online. Words like that do appear , and noone cries around about it.

Then ... that guy did mail me asking for "apologize" ... i did not take a bait here. I did not started swearing on him. I'm not that stupid. I told him that in this game - he may hear randomly words like that time to time. And he shouldn't take those too seriously. Especially that it was single word not followed by any other harrasement out there. I basically told him to report me - because if he takes single "you fags" so serious he needs to make report - then by all means he needs to do so and he will need to do this VERY OFTEN IN THIS GAME. Report many people no doubt.

Let's be honest ... it's not like i did worst thing in this game. Sure i wasnt particulary nice here - but wasnt THAT BAD. Essentialy in fair fights even when i lose i say gf and i don't offend my opponent. I'm sure my opponents can confirm that.
Sometimes when you get blobbed you can get little upset. I wasn't even mad at all - as i said i never lost ship there. I was more disapointed that this nice fight was interrupted.


NOW what happens then is a diffrent story. VERY Quickly i get message from GM Rust that i violated EULA 6.c and other stuff. No log to what i said exactly - but i figured out it's about that terribly offensive word exchange with "you fags".
He warned me and claimed that i will get banned if i will do this again.

I do agree it could be against EULA ... and honestly i won't do this anymore. But really ? They threat me to cancel my account for saying "you fags" ?? It's not like there wasn't worse words in diffrent channels out there more than once per 5 minutes all day long.

Now don't get me wrong - if i went full ****** and swear this guy hard, his parents. I would understand , damn i would even be sorry after all. This is not how i should behave as mature person. But all it was random "screw you" like saying ("you fags"). more offensive , but nothing personal - just "badass" saying in internet.

I was very worried ... that they go straight and fast to me with saying that i may get banned for that. Especially that it's my first warning. So i petitioned ... not the fact that i violated EULA - but the fact that it's not THAT hard violation of game rules to get such fast and brutal attention from GM. I would understand if GM told me to calm down and behave or else they will have to deal with me. But going straight to threat me with permanent ban for saying "you fags" ?

I think it's big ... not because it's my account. I hear words like that all the time in diffrent channels - starting with corp/alliance/miltia/ local. Noone reports anyone for this. Yet here i'm victim.

I was planning to play World Of Darkness CCP game ... but here i'm not sure anymore. Maybe it will be like EvE - Ponies and Friends online.

I do think that people should behave. I'm not ideal myself. But it should be kept in mind that in CCP games - you will not hear only "i love you" "thank you for fantastic fight friends, even tho you 1 vs 100 me" phrases.
Going straight to warn players that often invested hella lot of time into this game to cancel his account , because they said "you fags" is going too far.

GMs calm down ...

I admit i could be more cool myself more often aswell. But goddamit with that threat to ban permanently account ....

And i got another message from GM with same message. Give me a break guys - start chasing out abusers , RMTers and other more problematic people.

So let me get this straight..

You call somebody a name that you admit is not nice and then complain that you get a warning about said word that you admit is not nice?

people lie and make up stories all the time. And logs can be make up aswell...

I hope this story will really make people alert how easy they can lose thier account. And hopefully noone will for thing like that. BUT BE WARNED.
