Quick question: What's blue-balled? This is the third time this week I have heard that phrase so I figure I would ask...

I started to answer this question, then I erased it wondering if you have hit puberty yet. It is a sexual term that is often used casually to mean other similar things.

edit* reminds me of a hilarious time when a coworker from the middle east asked our boss, "what is a douchebag?" She was not amused.

Blue balling is simply not fighting. They are formed you are formed, but one side doesn't undock.

No one really like`s it but it is what it is.

Onictus, thank you for the clarification.

As for Erotica 1's reply... Well tbh I didn't expect an Eve related answer from her...(although I will say that because of its sexual meaning, it was the reason I didn't google it)

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

Next time clarify. The original (and most common) use in language is different than the Eve colloquialism.

Duly noted... Although I had thought that, after I had quoted it in context, normal people would have understood. But next time I will clarify Big smile

Harry's posting is so predictable it could be scripted and no one would feel a difference.

So wrong. I have been in plenty of fights where things get completely out of control. Hotdrops, bombs, trapped by 10+ frigates slowly taking away my shield while friends come to the aid. If you think things are so predictable why do keep playing?

I just stay there to see goonswarm fall, your lovely CFC break up and how life and action will flowback to nullsec after you people are gone

Harry, I love you. Keep staying in VFK all cloaked up!

Love,

I am more and more convinced that this guy isn't real but his whole forum persona is just one huge, elaborate troll.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Maybe it's actually Dear Leader creating content for his players. With so much space conquered in the Goon Crusade, there is not much for the pilots to do? That is one of the reasons the romans did so well. They understood that you had to keep their soldiers always busy doing stuff otherwise they would grow restless and cause problems. That and the communal sponge on a stick they used before the invention of toilet paper..

Or maybe Dear Leader suffers from a multiple personality disorder, and in times of great emotional stress he becomes Harry?

I found that sponge thing mildly disturbing, by the way.

Think ill turn this into my little Q&A thread :p but i was just watching a trailer for eve and it was of a very well planed out and epic fleet battle. Though from what ive been told and seen in the few fleets ive been in most battles are just blobs and who has the biggest blob wins. no tactics except for that. Is there any good tactics like shown in the video below? and if not how do you think CCP should "fix" blob battles.

Frankly you get some of both. In EVE, what happens before the battle is just as, if not more important than the phase when you actually shoot red squares. If you manage to get together a significantly bigger fleet, or a hard counter to the enemy fleet, it can turn into a F1 blapfest. But tactical battles with a lot of positioning, warping around, taking out critical ships or escalating are not uncommon. It depends on how good FC you have, which again boils down to which corp/alliance you join.

Watch this video, the recording is of actual fleet comms during a battle.
