!!! Please read this important announcement: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=6704470#post6704470 !!!

As this very posting in this forum already gives away: I've resub'ed to EVE after an almost two year's break from the game. And much to my surprise, I've found out that EWA still works after these two years.

Although I've kept updating EWA's database throughout my break, development on the application itself completely stopped, both because I got tired a bit and (mainly) because without working API keys development is close to impossible.

Well, for the next few months I do have working API keys. As a result, I've just published a new version (2.1.0) of EWA. There was an (unannounced) update a couple of weeks ago, which introduced Order Alerts to EWA, but much to my dismay it didn't work properly. It took me some time to find out why it worked at one machine but not at another. I'll spare you the details ... let's just say I have experienced an ID10T problem with myself Oops.

See the version history for details and downloads.

Current program version: EVEWalletAware 2.1.33, EWAAutoData 1.0.37, EWAViewer 1.0.1
Current database version: 74 (sde-20161019-TRANQUILITY-legacy)

For those of you willing to try it out, here's a 'preview version' (if you like) of an upcoming update: EVEWalletAware_2_1_1.zip. It includes only the EXE file (named EVEWalletAware_2_1_1.exe to not interfere with your production install) and needs to be copied into EWA's program folder in order to work.

In this preview the "pretty table copy for teh intarwebs" feature is implemented in a useable fashion (I hope). Meaning - any data grid can be formatted and copied to the clipboard as either a standard HTML or a BBCode (a format, which most forum software uses/understands) table.

This might for example be useful if you run a public business and wish to publish your figures on your web presence.

The way it's meant to work:

  • Open one of EWA's forms (i.e. Wallet transaction, Item details, Balance sheet)
  • Set filters as needed and retrieve/display the desired figures
  • Start the export by clicking menu 'Edit -> Copy to clipboard'
  • Pick your preference there and click 'Copy to clipboard'

The feature itself is still not fully completed, I intend to add MediaWiki table syntax, too. But I thought I try to get a little feedback first.

The above mentioned version 2.1.1 is now available as an official release. Please make sure you update the program and the database. If you're using the autodownloader (EWAAutoData), make sure to update it, too.

Just discovered your program, glad you had the time to come back developping it because for what I can tell it is great !
I'd highlight the clean and clear UI and powerfull filters and indicators.

Thanks.

Just coming back to Eve myself after a much shorter break (summer), can't express to you how happy I was to see your post! :)

Still using EWA for the longest time now and looking very much forward to trying out the new version.

I didn't have the time to read half of this thread yet and I probably won't until later on today or tomorrow.

I would recommand downloading (and/or installing) and run the program :
http://eve.basicaware.de/EVEWalletAware/download.html

and save potential wallet data deletion or other similar problem.

This in turn would avoid loosing important EVE business costs related expenses and important records of those costs.

RT Error 91

Run Time Error '91'

Object variable or With block variable not set

...

I tried to download it, run it and install it but it doesn't work on my end.
It could very well be a hardware condition and work on other configuration.

Please let me know if you can help me to fix it to make it run.
... Or if you know other programs that can do that.

Error 2

(The system is in Admin mode although I couldn't completely verify that yet.)

...
Doesn't work in Windows 7 for me yet.

As for using EWA with Vista/Windows 7, this forum posting might help you.

It seems you've downloaded only the beta version of the application itself. If you've never used EWA before, you need to grab the full installation package. Also: that beta version has made it into the official release.

Seems that you know how to install and run this program on Windows 7.

I did download the Full Installation version 2.1.1.
I didn't verify the checksum.
I can make a video of the procedures to verify what may need to be fixed.

What makes it seems like if I downloaded only the beta version of the application?
I have never used EWA before.
(I didn't find the beta version yet.)

The first image Run-time error '91' was partly caused by the program being blocked from downloading by Windows 7.
I then managed to remove that block and have the file downloaded.

However, that didn't solve the problem or the most part of the problem.

I tried to install it from an XP version although it won't work on that system properly either due to admin restrictions.

I read there is a
processorArchitecture="X86"
line in the exe.Manifest so I only tested the x86 version of the 3 MS files to test the component installed (on the Win7 system).

The second image is the files that were in the folder (placed by me) as I tried to run some of the suggested steps under Dependencies/Requirements.

  • •MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components) 2.8. You can check your currently installed version with this tool (Component Checker) from Microsoft.
  • •MSXML (Microsoft XML) 6.

I now read that :
Please note: these components are only required for Windows XP and earlier. Newer versions of Windows (Vista and later) already include these files as a part of the default install.

Which would mean that the previous procedure were useless on the Windows 7 system.

NTVDM.EXE has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is
available.

The
EVEWalletAware.exe.manifest
is the text file that is suggested in the download page
under EWA manifest.

UAC dialog means User Account Control.
https://www.google.ca/search?q=UAC+dialog&sourceid=ie7&rls=com.microsoft:en-ca:IE-SearchBox&ie=&oe=&gws_rd=cr&ei=vOxXUuX2BKLcyQGVpYDQAw

MDAC_TYP_EXE file is a copy of the file I tried to unblock to check the windows component
as mentionned in the :
Dependencies/Requirements
•MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components) 2.8.

That also failed although that it loaded a little black DOS box which seems to have been to try to install or extract some files before running an executable.
However, this led to the NTVDM.EXE error message or interruption above.

I also read there is a Manual in *.rar archival format for which I'd have to get the program to extract from it.

Your screenshots in your earlier posting.

Don't try to do too much. The instructions on the website aren't quite up to date, given I've just came back after a two year's break.

Here's what to do:

If it still doesn't work, try running it in XP compatibility mode.

Yes, that's exactly it, in fact, I will make a video (or 2, with options) to show how it works.
bandicam 2013 10 11 13 59 04 496

I cannot validate the name of the character and import the wallet data associated with the API yet.
The rest of the program installed and loaded.

21:08:
I finally figured it out.
I managed to get my character names to show up with my API data.

Very important, do not make the mistake I made when entering the API data.
First a window will show up with API fields to enter.
That window is the Extras - Options window.

First :
from the Extras - Options window:
The API Key(s) tab will be selected which is where to enter the API data.
The input fields are:
1. Account name:
2. EVE API User ID:
3. Verification code (Char)
4. Key ID (Char)

The 1. Account name is just a name assigned to the EVE Online account.
The 2. EVE API User ID is just like a second name assigned to the EVE Online account.
Do not enter a real name or real account name there.

It is in 3. that the API Verification code (Char) goes.
4. is where the Key ID (Char) data goes, the Key ID (Char) data associated with the above API Verification code (Char) in 3.

[That API Verification code (Char) usually is after but it's before anyways now.]

Note:
Under Quick Briefing in Extras > Options, appliaction should be application .

I saved Wallet + Journal data to a MS Access db file, but the previous lost data is not retrieved yet.

15:14:
I didn't have the time to make the second video as I'm going to test a contract left in Null-sec... (I couldn't avoid the API key from being displayed though I tried to avoid it from being displayed...)

I managed to retrieve an old video uploaded February 4, 2013 over 15 minutes.

Anyways, my problem is that my wallet data was deleted from last year.
That includes over 3 billions transferred from PLEx sales via CCP purchases from their store.
That also includes how those billions were lost, and the cost of PI settings and other costs.
I'd use it for business analysis of course which details are better left for another post.

(Also, after review, it seems the smooth video is a bit choppy, and the soundtrack cut off in certain places.
It is probably not due to lag. I am still looking into what caused this.)

Yepp, that's how the API works. You can only data from one month back, at most.

For the rest of your posting: I'm not sure what you're trying to tell me. Or is that aimed at other players?
