RRBS, that used to be a thing, right?

Also you're missing classical blops gangs, i.e. bombers/recons/t3s.

Yes it did. We did RR Phoons with Torps, and 2 large Solace RR. The doctrine Included Ogre II's for pure DPS or ECM Drones when we were outnumbered
Fleets were Armor based, so Mega's and Geddons also would fly with 1 Large Solace. Phoons were the cornerstone though.
Brawler RRBS . No Logi, No Recon, every pilot was doing DPS and RR.

Not sure what they called it but minny militia used to use SFI's for all the things since they cost **** all. I have seen pretty much every fit in the world for an SFI thanks to that (i'm looking at you, the guys that though ecm thrashers were cool so surely an ecm thrasher was awesome right?)

You could be sure that whatever fleet we had, at all, the minnie counter was SFI's.

Were they shield SFIs (baby vagas) or dual rep?
I know some CalMil groups imitated their Minni counterparts and did dual rep SFI gangs

I was just having a discussion about the Firewall. Sure it was used a fleet comp many times but it only involves a small part of the fleet, the rest is DPS, any mid ranged DPS ship really. Does that qualify as a fleet comp, I would put Firewalling as a tactic rather than a comp.

Correct me if Im wrong, but the distinguishing mark of the Firewall is the smartbombers rather than a core ship.

Also, pantheons don't necessarily need subcaps to be called pantheon, they are just carriers intricately linked with loads of energy transfers to generate loads of capacitor which is then used to rep **** up.

Hah, I was waiting for the obligatory Armour Mach to turn up.

Do you have a batrep for the Raul Moat. I thought it was a just a joke reference.

Panzer Fleet: mallers/omens fit with passive resists and t1 logi (aka Fingerbang)

:(

Panzers use passive resist Mallers and active resist Navy Omens that are both cap boosted. Regular Omens are actually banned because they have terrible resists and bad tank.

Fingerbang primarily passive resist Omens with a tracking computer without a cap booster because of the cap bonus.

They're both t1 armor cruiser doctrines, but the similarities end there.

I agree with you that it's really a tactic rather than a comp.

I remember fighting against entire firewall fleets around that time like in the video (nostalgia bomb and loooove that intro), though it eventually got min/maxed and seperated as a tactic with dedicated ships. Not really sure if smartbombs to reduce missile damage had been used on that large of a scale at that point since I was still new to EVE. If someone knows more history on firewall tactics or how long Init kept the firewall role within the entire fleet, i'm actually kind of curious to hear more.

Now these aren't real fleet comps, but hey, if there's gonna be a comp wiki, they desrve to be on it.

Before the tracking formula was introduced people used to camp gates in 6 damage mods, sensor boosted tackle-less tempests/armageddons, called "instakillas" and "gankageddons".

At the time there was no damage mod stacking penalty and you could literally alpha any ship off the field with one or two of these.

PL used these http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=8945339 (basically hellcats), calling them abbablob.

Also, "Detorid Rokh City", "Blokh", blaster buffered rokhs we used in small gangs around 2011.

Blastherthron/Club Bear, pre-odyssey small gang blaster megathrons, dual rep with a single neut.

Oh, you should also mention domi mining fleet, these used to be a really serious thing back in the day, what with the big drone bay and the turret slots.

Friends are like cows: if you eat them, they die.

I don't recall them ever being known as cats, they were definitely known as potato's though, potato fleet would be a more accurate name.

I can confirm that the Dreamcats have seen battle, at least once that I know of. It wasn't much of a battle, but they were out. They were fielded alongside poorcats.

TeaClipper- Dual Prop Armor AF's with griffins and T1 Logi frigs.

Used by Amarr Militia a few months back by some of the EU TZ FC's. When you ran across a small crusier gang or a lone BS it looked like a bunch of gang-bangers in street racers doing a rolling driveby on a Dennys then zipping away before the po-po showed up.

Can't tell you how much fun I hand in those fleets.

How'd you make your logi frigs last long enough?...and what was the griffin to logi to af ratio?

Usually about a 25 man fleet I flew with. 5-6 Logi 3-4 Griffins and the rest AF's or fast tackle. Logi survived by keeping range and using Griffins to jam enemy logi or cut down on incoming dps. T2 resists, low sig and high speed made them scary effective. Cant wait to see this comp with Rubicon EAF's and warp mechanics. Can be done on smaller scale but obviously have to be more careful with the target selection. Don't stick around too long either.
