New Maps Program (concept)

Hey guys. I've been searching a long time for a good interactive map program to use on my iPad (or 2nd monitor for PC) in support with this game to come to a solid realization of: there is none. Currently, like many people... depending on what I'm doing/need the map for; I swap back and forth between an array of websites and programs such as GARPA, wormnav, dotlan, etc. What I'm proposing is a next-generation application that combines the utility of all of the said programs above into a slick new user interface.

I am posting this on here for two reasons. One, to see if there is in fact any programs that I missed that already does what I would like to accomplish. I'm not looking to reinvent the wheel - if there is already such a program I would gladly just use that program. Also, as this would technically be the first program I write for the eve universe, I want to dot my I's and cross my T's making sure I'm not violating the EULA in any way shape or form before I begin moving my project past the conceptual phase.

My concept thus far:

Reasoning: There are no good interactive ve maps that take sov structures (Jump bridges, cyno jammers, ect) into consideration when determining the best route to take in the eve universe. I would like to develop a program that interacts with dotlan's radar tool to track your current location on a 3rd party map and give you the best route to your intended destination.

My program would allow a whole new use of strategy in both solo ops, fleet ops, and alliance ops everywhere. Sites like wormnav already use dotlan's radar tracker to continually update your players location in space - however for some reason this technology is absent on every 3rd party map program that I have looked at. By developing a navigation system that is in constant connection with dotlan's radar tracker my goal is to give fleet commanders and alliance commanders new tools to help them in strategizing for victory.

I have three primary goals I would like to achieve with this program - and would be developing the program in this order.
1. single user tracking (for personal use)
2. fleet tracking - when FC's post their participation links in fleet - perhaps there might be a way of integrating a 'login' in where the user puts their radar token into that link to sign into the fleet. now the FC can see exactly where every member of his fleet is at all times. This would be a great feature to keep track of where your scouts are in comparison to the main fleet.
3. Alliance tracking - Imagine that you are in your home system and you receive a ping about a blue titan being pointed x jumps away and that fleets are forming to go save the titan. If FC's input their radar into a separate location whenever their fleets go out with information on fleet comp - imagine the alliance leaders being able to see the location of every fleet in the game at any given time and being able to reroute them to where they really are needed.

Like I said before. This is all still in the concept phase of development. I am still trying to explore the possibilities of features that I can add into such a program without violating the EULA. I would also like to know if such a program would be of use to anyone for my secondary and tertiary goals of the fleet tracking and alliance tracking - or if I should just stick to single user tracking.

Last year I've made eve-upro (Promotion video: http://youtu.be/F0R22ey60gk -- see my signature as well), which supports a few of the things you mentioned (tracking of people, route finding including w-space or jump bridges, ...).
It doesn't support integration with any other service (was planned as stand-alone thing) nor cyno jammer information for example - although anything might be possible, it's just code.

I put the project on ice for various reasons, first and foremost though because of lack of interest (Which in turn then brought me to the concept of lean-startup). But the code is open-source on GitHub, take what you find useful.

Well, they oughta know what to do with them hogs out there for shure.
