I like the idea! I would like to see the Salvaging profession expanded as it's one of my favorite things to do in EvE.

As a general concept i like the idea of expanding salvaging. How would increasing salvage and loot from missions and structures but having no ownership (everything turned blue) effect game play?

i would assume player killed loot, will belong to the killer only, but i was thinking more of all the npc junk that scatterd around... old stations, structures ect ect

I get the impression that Salvaging was removed from Exploration sites because it's an additional module you have to put on your ship, and Exploration already takes up at least 2 if not 3 required modules in your mid slots. (depending if you consider cargo scanner required).

Adding salvageable objects to PvE missions or anywhere else you expect to find rats to salvage would be in line with this, as you already would need to bring a salvager in some form to make the most of those situations.

So, how would it work? Would you have to blow up the structure then it would drop a wreck? Perhaps it could occasionally have trade goods, or minerals in the wreck. It should also not always drop salvage, just like the ship wrecks. It should drop salvage sometimes, perhaps scrap metal sometimes and nothing sometimes.

Any ideas?

I think any increase in the amount of salvage being produced in game is a bad idea. Perhaps if they only came up with scrap metal, or perhaps a new salvage metal that would give other minerals?

It is a good point, a lot of salvage prices are already depressed, adding more salvage to the game would make the problem worse.

I definately think the new scrap metal idea could work, but it would have to at least have an option that would be worthwhile. A lot of current wrecks go unlooted because the reward is so small it's not worth the time/cargo space to loot the scrap metal.
