It wasn't suppose to be perfect and I'm not even sure what "perfect" could mean in this context. Ok, perfect would be possibility to manage your queue with out of game tools but that probably won't happen for a long time.

Also if you increase queue to 7 days people will cry "why only 7 days, I have to go to hospital for 10 days. Make it longer!".
You make it two weeks, people will have vacations/military deployment/whatever longer than that and crying for longer will continue.

Of course if Eve is on your mind when RL puts you in life threatening situations (mentioned hospital/military deployments) problem lies not really in skill queue length :) But on daily basis I think my idea would be more or less balanced between flexibility and not opening can of worms.

I recall a pod cast where CCP mentions having a mobile app up and running sometime in the future. Perhaps they will allow skill queue training via the mobile app? One can dream. Blink

This is a good idea for the following reasons.

1) Reduce server load (allows part time players time to log in less with each character they are skilling)
2) Actually adds value to a players experience, let's them have MORE of a REAL LIFE outside of EVE.
3) Promotes players adding more characters (more money for CCP) to train due to less hassle.

It no way reduces value to any other aspect of the game, since the argument that CCP wants you to Play the game is void
since any player who just logs into add to the skill tree is very unlikely to play PVP or PVE content while doing so.

Logging on more for skilling characters that aren't being played actively just loads the server.

The only reason that the skill cue is as it is, is CCP wants to steal money from players who don't log in as much... that's all my little brain can think of why it is what it is.... with a slight chance they are afraid you will forget about the game and move on if you're not addicted to skilling toons.

PS.. I go on and off of EVE, but my subscription continues, since I plex it ahead of time. I have many times not played this game for 6 months at a time and all the while my toon wasn't being skilled, yet I was paying for the Sub..... why is that fair. Skill cue times should reflect no limit at all for players who don't want to play the game now, but would like to still skill characters for the future.... they should be a year at least.

For the comments that say "Play the Game" that is just over the top..... really! Get a life outside of this game. Many players have played 10 years now.... you mean they are REQUIRED to log in that whole time to keep value in their subscription.... Wow... i am floored.

Wrong.. CCP want your subscriptions. They don't make money if you log in.
If you paid subs for a year and logged in once a week they would love you just as much as those who log in every day and paid the years subs.

Instead of increasing queue's capacity they could just implement one simple thing: last skill in queue continues training of next level until finishing level 5 or player will log in and change it manually.

Meh, it would work +1

HAhahahaha "CCP wants to steal money from players who don't log in much" OMG, really????
Its not CCP's fault if you pay for a service then don't use it.

Seriously, if you pay then don't play, its not CCPs fault.

Its not hard to maintain a skill queue, and it certainly doesn't have to be an interruption to real life. Sheesh, drop a level 5 in and come back 2-4 weeks later!!!!!

AND OMFG... its QUEUE.... This is a cue
