Better tactical informations for PVP

Heyho guys,

since I drive a nice car with headup display I really appreciate it to have all needed informations in my point of view - the street.

I think it's a minor change but has a big reward for PVP.

I'm talking about the distance beween me and my opponents. The overview is nice and the information for locked targets too - but in real fast paced pvp you can't look all the time at the overview. Especially when you are fighting blobs or gangs - you move your cam alot to see in what distance and situation u r right now.

So I'd have a few options to display informations next to the ship symbols 'in space'.

* most im portant: distance to my ship
* all other overview direction speed informations (transversal, vertical and so on)

I think it would help much more than the tactical overview that has too many information and is only helpfull in slow paced pvp like big gangbangs of 50vs50 ships or fights with big ships.

What do you think?

As I mentioned in my posting this tactical overlay isn't very good when you are in fast paced pvp fights. Too many informations - I just want a number next to the ships in space - that's it :)

And I want a gun which allows me to shoot an enemy and turn them into a giant pink space elephant.

But that, like your suggestion, isn't sensible.

you just want a number next to the ships in space? Way to increase lag massively. Also, the more people you fight the harder it is to make sense of the overall information.

Learn to use the overlay. It really is good for what you want it for. It just takes a bit of getting used to, like anything.

Its actually not a half bad idea to have range / transversel / etc next to your target display. It would be interesting if you could customize it based of the information you want so as to not clutter up your targeting display.

As to tactical overlay, my only gripe about it is that their is no reference points and no coordinate system other then range center on you as a reference point. In other words it would be nice to say to a fleet align north or align to the 90 degree mark or move to the xyz coordinate and hold position. It could be an excellent way to use terrain to stage stealth bomber traps etc.

My 2 Cents

What are you talking about? How would this increase lag massively? The numbers are already on the client in the overview and possibly already calculated by the client. This is simply a display issue and if your computer can't handle it then turn these theoretical bits of information off.

Vectors and distance indicators would be great. Remember that these only change every second (ie server tick) so I'm not sure how smooth it would be in a fast-paced frigate fight.
