[Proposal] lawless space within highsec - outer reaches of systems

My proposal is to have things in systems so far out away from the stargates and planets that it takes a long time to warp to it. Little of it would be readily visible on the overview and most would have to be scanned down, with large gaps of space containing little of value. In highsec, the CONCORD response time would begin to increase if you get too far from the center of the system, out at several hundred AU it could take minutes for them to arrive. You could find occasional pockets of ore, ice, or ruins. There could be the occasional hermits or outlaws who just want to be left alone. Since it would mostly be empty, it would be hard for people to scan you down and would take them time to get to you, making it a good hiding spot if you catch a really deep safe. Some systems may not even have any celestials as far out as you can find anomalies.

I think this would be something fairly easy to implement, and would allow players to scale for themselves just how deeply they want to explore. It would help ensure that a system will never be completely devoid of things to find, provided a pilot is determined enough to find them.

Thoughts?

No. Even with MWDing towards the outer edge of the system going from AU to AU takes hours, potentially days. No one's gonna bother with it.

When Bon Scott died and he appeared before St. Peter at the gates of Heaven, St. Peter looked at his record and told him he couldn't get in. Just then, God screams at Peter, "Let him in, Karen Carpenter is driving me nuts. I want to hear some music with balls. We'll haggle over the paperwork later." At least I hope that's what happened.

What does MWD have to do with it? It would take months for even a Dramiel to MWD 1 AU. I'm talking about warp, not MWD.

Something of interest would need to be placed there to attract people.

Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot.

it would have standard anoms, just gradually less and less as you get further out. The attraction is that you can always scan further from the star to have a chance of detecting anomalies, and that you have more time to run from pursuers. It might be popular in lowsec.

It adds to the immersion of EVE? It'll make space feel bigger. The EVE universe feels kind of small sometimes when you can cross a system in well under a minute.

Wouldn't it be better to be encouraging human interaction through more active means? For all the criticism incursions get they do bring carebears together. No need for superfluous off grid crap to hide ogb in.

I, too, wish to explain to people again and again that they were ganked in highsec without CONCORD showing up because they were in the "outer regions" of a system.

Oh wait, no I don't.

But CCP went and removed deep safes ages ago, why would they put them back?

This is another consideration that came to mind as well.

It will be a mystery for the ages.
