Alright, so I need some help here regarding Incursions. I'm looking for advice on which of my ships I should fly, and possible fits if people are interested in helping me with that as well. I've spent most of my EVE life PvE'ing with some bouts of PvP on the side. I enjoy both and I'm not afraid to lose a ship, as long as I don't lose a ship stupidly. I've been on extended hiatus training my character and have no experience with Incursions, but would like to start.

Some skill background:

  • I'm relatively old as a character and have a fair amount of skillpoints (68 mil).

  • Weapons systems - I have all missile and laser (and associated skills for tracking etc) up to level 5. All of them. I cannot use hybrid turrets as effectively. I cannot use projectile turrets effectively or at all in most cases.

  • Armour and support - I have all armour tanking and shield tanking (and related) skills up to level 5 as well as many navigation skills. My engineering and electronics skills are all level 5 except for EWAR related skills sitting at 3-4. My leadership fleet boosting skills are 4-5 for armour and shield tanking, and around 3-4 for other systems. Working on these currently. My remote rep skills are level 5 for both armour and shields.

  • Ship skills - I can fly almost any sub-capital Caldari or Amarr combat ship except for specialized frigates and black ops (almost there on that). For the ships that I can fly, the skills are 4 or 5. I have Command Ships 5 and Logistics 5. I cannot fly Matari or Gallentean ships. My battleship skills aren't the greatest.

Ships I currently have and am considering taking into Incursions, tech 2 fitted and T1 rigs:

  • Drake (I have 11 of these)
  • Nighthawk
  • Vulture
  • Harbinger
  • Prophecy
  • Absolution
  • Damnation
  • Basilisk

Given the above information, could anyone recommend to me which ship (or ships) would be best to fly in an Incursion fleet, and how I should fit it??

Of those ships, the Basi will get you into fleets the quickest. If you have it, a pimped Nightmare will get you into fleets even quicker.

You'll want an omni tank with resists atleast 70 or so across the board and a bit of buffer. Expect to have multiple Logis there because every site requires 2-3+ Logis (so don't worry about local tank).

Here's a Basi fit I have used (it's not the best or pimped at all, but it gives you a bit of an idea of where to start):

[Basilisk, New Setup 1]
Damage Control II
Power Diagnostic System II

Invulnerability Field II
Invulnerability Field II
Photon Scattering Field II
Large Shield Extender II
Y-S8 Hydrocarbon I Afterburners

Large S95a Partial Shield Transporter
Large S95a Partial Shield Transporter
Large S95a Partial Shield Transporter
Large S95a Partial Shield Transporter
Large 'Regard' I Power Projector

Logi 5 you say? Basi all the way. I dont fly shield logi so I wont comment on fittings.

I used to have a clever sig but I lost it.

Or you could go amour legion, just because lasers are cool and NCOs die before you come out of warp from the acceleration gate

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

The absolution will be quite well received in armor fleets. A legion would also be very welcome.

Missile ships in general are frowned upon and have a hard time gettting into good fleets.

Logistics ships are also good ways to get into decent fleets especially with logi 5, so a basi or guardian would be a good choice as well.

If you are stuck with only the listed ships until you make more isk, then it's the abso or basi that you go with.

Thanks, I'll give the Basilisk a try. I need to refit it slightly.

Fly Abso and Guardian for armor fleets, consider legion too.

For shield Basi and well everything in cruiser size is under-performing but after you get some isk try Nightmare, lazors are just perfect for incursions.

If you can fly a Legion, get one. They are welcome in virtually any armor VG fleet, due to a great tank, great tracking, and good optimal + dps. If you can't afford a Legion, an Abso will do alright as a substitute.

Alternatively, get into a Guardian or Basi, Guardian for armor fleets and Basi for shield. (obviously P) Logis are needed in every fleet, so it shouldn't be too hard to get in with one, and you don't need to worry about ammo either \o/.
