What do you guys think it will cost when it comes to the market? Is there anyway to find out how many ollecters editions have been sold?

priceless (as in, "you can't sell it").

It's probably gonna get bundled with the code for the "other" stuff they still haven't given out, or that "special keycode that you keep for the next 10 years and you'll get goodies" ... though if it's a code all by itself, I imagine it'll go for a pretty penny.

CCP already stated that everyone that bought the CE will be getting an Implant for the Gold Pod that goes into your head like all other implants.

This implant will go into a special slot that only uses this implant.

CCP says that once you plug in the implant, it will act like other implants when you try to unplug it - it will be destroyed.

CCP says the only difference is that once you plug in the implant into your head, even if your pod is destroyed, the implant will be in your clone. So once you plug it in , no matter what you will always have it. Unless you unplug it - then it is destroyed forever.

Now after you redeem your code for the implant, it will be like all other items you can sell it on the market.

I myself will be plugging my implant for Gold pod into my head, so that is one less implant on the market.

I for see this implant going for 3 bil plus because lot's of people will plug it in instead of selling it. So it will become rare.

P.S. Also this implant will travel to your jump clone when you jump to one. It will always be there unless you unplug it.

Yes, I will have this billion isk implant installed, but it will not be able to be destroyed when I am podded.

Other than that I will only have two attribute implants installed, my +3 perception & +3 willpower since that is what I am mapped for atm & I am training gunnery/missile/spacesship skills.

So, I might get podded but I am out very little isk. I will look good in my GOLDEN POD as I get podded. :P


P.S. So after the CE's come out, feel free to do locator agent on me & come see if you can pop my pod.

What does this matter? Unless you autopilot around in your pod thinking your slaves will save it it's no biggie.

Also, it is only your pod that is golden, so if you don't travel in your pod, you're good...

and if your ship gets shot out from under you, then you're already in trouble, and a bright gold target won't get you in any worse case.

Everyone into PvP will want a killmail for these golden pod capsules. Once it's known you have a golden pod it will be like having your house burgled in real life. ie House that are burgled once are much more likely to be burgled again afterwards numerous times. A golden pod is an anchor around your neck. Best to sell it asap before the price plummets.

The implant is not destroyed with the clone. When I wake up in in the station, the implant will be in my new clones head already. Fancy new golden pod ready to fly.


It will however mess up all those fancy killboards that keep track of how much is destroyed. When my poor little reaper newb ship is destroyed and I'm podded it will show it was worth 30 billion ISK.

But since your golden pod is replaced when you get podded, then there's no reason for the killboard to value it as anything more valuable than a normal pod.

Im a noob and i have never had more than 2b in my entire eve career, and i am plugging it in.
My plan:
charge people 15m a pop for a gold pod killmail. Ill even make it look real (for an increased fee) and let you kill me in my frigate!

I'd be curious how many takers you get. You could expand this by having a "pay for implants and I'll wear them during the podding" for an extra fee of course....

and then get someone to give you a full +5 or really expensive set and running.

This is some funny ****. You think there are people out there thinking...damn that is a ****** looking greenish pod, I could lock it and kill, perhaps getting a 5 bill implant killmail, but it's kind of drab looking so I'm going to let it go.

That's not how it works. If you can pod it, you do. Every time, shiny gold pod or not. Though there will likely be quite a few "lolpod" comments before they do it. Lol

I foresee high prices for these things, especially down the road. I am going to wager most people that bought the CE didn't do it with the intention to sell their unique item, though some will be tempted to when they see how much they can get for it.

I'm plugging mine in.

I'm sure there are plenty of people that don't want to buy the collecters edition, but who would like to add a golden pod to their collection. And of course there are several people interested in selling them.

What would you pay for the golden pod?

Look at its price history for a good laugh.

What you all do not understand is that once the implant for the golden pod gets installed, it is gone off the market forever.

I will be installing mine, so that is one less out there. I would think quite a few of the people that bought the CE will be installing their implants too.

Then you have the Highsec carebear alts that fly crazy fits just because they have too much isk (which leads me into highsec needs more nerfing, but that is another topic).

These highsec carebears will buy an golden pod implant just to have & plug it in. More of them off market.

If CCP never screws up the players again like the did with the SOMERgate (Somer Blink is a scam which is another topic), then these implants are going to worth a lot.

Some of you do not understand, once the implant is plugged in, it is gone forever. Unlike if someone buys a collector ship, it is still able to be sold later.

The tricky part is waiting long enough to sell it that the price has risen, but not so long that CCP reintroduces them and makes their value trivial. It's a fine line to walk.
