Odelya,

I see your sister sent me a mail;

I don't deal with your subordinates. if you are serious about dying under my guns then you speak to me yourself next time.

Try again.

I will be collecting your corpse after we are finished, by the way. I'll have it strung up on the bow of one of my vessels as a good luck charm.

Or maybe I'll send your polished skull to Blake as a souvenir. Decisions, decisions.

Sabik now, Sabik forever

See? Polished. And that's just about standards.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

While her titles may make for amusing dinner chat in Khanid space I wouldn't advise the Exhausted Cherry Blossom to come to Lustrevik seeking to lay claim to any real estate or ordering any of us around. I guarantee that her (brief) visit would not end well.

Ms Rella,

please do a bit of research on what my family has done for the tribes of Lustrevik and you will for sure become very grateful. You still take care of the old archives, don’t you?

Now who is acting like a drama queen in need of attention, Silas? My sister is not my subordinate, you seem to get something wrong there. And by the way, our “provincial” family that looks back to centuries of written records saw your family always as a non-entity, even before it has become one.

Sometimes I think I can be petty but then I read threads like this and feel a little better.

By the by, can you recommend a good brand of whiskey? I've only ever been a cognac man, but I'm going to an anniversary celebration and need to bring a good bottle. I've never been much of a whiskey man, but I'm hoping to turn things around.

I recommend trying any of the non-blended, aged in old wood brands made in the Great Wildlands by Thukker artisans. One of my favorites is Celestial Caravan Select.

Whatever you do, stay away from the cheap "aged" in steel tank stuff sold on some stations and passed off as genuine Thukker whiskey. My general rule is if it's advertised as Thukker but costs about the same as the synth stuff, avoid it.

Pilot Rella, You have fine taste.

Thank you very much, Bella. There is nothing worse than showing up at a party and having been 'that man' who brought 'that whiskey'. I've heard what they say about 'that man' who brought 'that lager'. I can only imagine the bad whiskey man would be even more worthy of contempt.
