Creating a thread so you guys have somewhere to talk about this feature since you are going to get a look at it with the build going out today.

What you are getting today is still extremely raw as we are basically smack in the middle of implementation as this goes out. That said, we would love any feedback you guys have on this feature, especially related to the design/content/usability of it. Some of these things will be changing/improving as we add more over the coming weeks, but don't hesitate to share what you think in the current state.

Thanks!

We are going to be putting ISIS to the test regarding usability in a week or so where we will evaluate how users respond to the way navigation works in it and how they respond to using the info bubbles to get information about factions, ship groups and ships.

Your feedback until then will help us decide which areas to focus our efforts in these user testing sessions.

This project has been a labour of love for team Game of Drones and we truly believe it will assist players in setting progression goals and deciding which ship to take out for a spin.

Will ISIS notify you which ships can take you into The Danger Zone?

Just looked at it a little and it's nice addon. I like it, definitely catchy for new players.

The Caldari and Minmatar backgrounds seems to be wrong. Caldari = blue. Minmatar = red. ATM Caldari is red and Minmatar is dark mud.

AMAZING !

And you can even see the ship moving in the background if you clic on the preview image. (You need to quickly resize the preview before the ship appears though)

I just don't get why some races have the ship moving from left to right while some pirate factions have the ship staying at the center-right to move toward the player and dissapear at center-left.

No, really, cool stuff. I don't like the way threes are displayed for pirate / ore factions though, as it let newbies think that there are plenty of ships for them where this is just false.

Also, you'll have to resize all the icons when SOE will be added to this shiny feature :o

The pirate factions trees are not finished, complete work in progress. We are thinking of ways to clarify the way in which they are shown.

The backgrounds are placeholder, that's why some of them are wrong, we are discussing some things.

Also the ship moving in the background is another, work in progress idea.

Very nice visual representation of ship progression. Smooth scrolling, zooming and informative mouse over pop ups. I also like the single click on a ship to bring up the item window. Just a couple of general observations:

- The T1 ship box icons look a little bland compared to their faction and T2 counter parts. Could the ship profile be lightened, or maybe use a box white border prehaps, to provide greater contrast versus ships that the player is not capable of flying?

- Have the mastery skill dependencies yet to be finalized? I note that I need Gravimetric and Magnetometric Sensor Compensation skills to achieve the next level of Rifter Mastery, for example, when I'd have thought Ladar would suffice.

- Would it be possible to add a drag 'n drop for ship boxes to chat? (Would save a left click to open Item window).

I think this is an awesome feature that will be a great help to new players and useful for older players tooBlink

I would love a toggle able view which made the icons change size depending the ship size. For a new player I think it would be really cool to understand the disparity & progression of ship classes.
Even if you don't go fully to scale with the icons I suggest that the different ship classes would be easier to understand if the icons increased over class.

The icon sizes are especially important because the small icons don't capture much detail of the capital ships due their size and length the height ratio.

Awesome feature , perfect even for a old player like myself , some times i used to browse the market (browsing ships)for the same feature that u implemented here .

Now for the feedback.

Not sure why the industrial ships are bellow the battlecruisers , i could see them below cruisers because it is easy to get into them .

I like the small icons next to the ship class , would love to be able to see them in space, brackets ,overview maybe .

I think it would be great if there was a feature like this one for other aspects of eve like manufacturing ,PI, player owned strucures .

On the pirate ships i would recommend to not put all the ships from the 2 merged factions , i don`t know it looks weird, maybe just keep the ones with models and or bonus.

Also i think the ORE faction needs a top spot along the 4 big empires.

Maybe ad a small description to ships like this Harbinger- Combat Battlecruiser when u hover the mouse over the harbi

This feature looks great and is a fantastic addition to the game for new players and old players alike. I have been looking forward to this ever since it was showcased at Fanfest. One question I have for you though:

Why has it been graphically downgraded since you last showcased it? I remember it having awesome holographic 3d models of the ships instead of just icons... this was really cool and it would be nice to see that back in.

I'm missing the navy BC.

The Tech3 ships don't have a fly-by-animation.

I have to say I really love this feature. But I am a tad confused. I thought the ship tree was going to be a bit more streamlined to what was actually helpful for a ship.

For example.

To get Mastery for a Fenrir over level I I would need acceleration Control level I. Since acceleration control "Skill at efficiently using Afterburners and MicroWarpdrives. 5% Bonus to Afterburner and MicroWarpdrive speed boost per skill level." This makes no sense to me.

When you get higher in the mastery tree Fuel Conservation and micro jump drive Operation both join the party. Which again makes no sense to me. Maybe we'll be getting some mids on it?? Blink

Since I have no plans on ever training Fuel Conservation on this toon, I'll never have higher then a IMastery II for this ship?

One simple question not 100% related to this only: Are there any plans to use the new ship class icons in other parts of the interface (read: Overview and Brackets)? Even if it's just optional? I'm sick of only three (well, four) sizes of brackets, especialyl when wanting to differentiate between things such as frigates and destroyers (which might be important in missions to not get webbed/scrambled).

It looks like I don't have Cruiser mastery above II for just about every cruiser for only two reasons:
I don't have Electronic Warfare Drones to III (it's II, which is enough to use EC-300s) and I don't have passive shield compensation skills at all except for EM (because I've literally never used any other passive shield hardener, and even then only on kinda weird fits). Battleships are mostly at I because of the drone thing. I'll leave the complaining about MJD skills on frigates to other people, since I haven't even gotten far enough to be blocked by that, but those seem like weird requirements.

In general, I feel like these certificates suffer from some of the same "you must have everything in a bin, and there are a finite number of bins" problems as the old ones.

What level mastery do you expect your average reasonably-experienced pilot to have on their favored ships? What level is the "I've started training all the really esoteric skills for this ship" level? (5 is obviously the "I've *trained* all the esoteric skills that might affect this ship" level, and I'm okay with that.)

You do realize the EW drone interfacing skill gives you extra drone control range, right?

e: I do agree with you on the other points though. For example ragnorak requiring you to train all 4 sensor compensation skills to 5 is fairly funny when it doesnt affect the ship in the slightest. (Or it could just be a hint of titan changes to come :tinfoil:)

I really would like to see the ability to have this in a window so I can resize it and move it around with other windows, stack it on top of others, maybe (if I'm feeling adventurous) pin it.
