Why is it we only can salvage killed ships?? why not be able to salvage all the other crap around the space, like abandon old stations or when the crap that u find in mission like station batteries. There is a lot of scrap that floating around that should been salvagable, but aint.

Expand salvaging skills and make a own branch of it. Have small, medium and large salvager, salvager upgrades that enhanch range, tonnage and speed, scrap-scanning units.

Because if you could salvage all the dozens of bits of crap floating around in missions, and get anything other than scrap metal from them, you'd probably crash the salvage market

i do see ure problem with it, tho im thinking more of u need to reprosses the scrap and gain resources and not salvage items. Tho from time to time, u could find some treasures hidden within the wrecks/scrap ect ect.

yeah, something random chance based and very rare might be nice.

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...

I guess I have always looked at the floating space junk as having all it's valuable parts salvaged out already.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

What about adding salvageable items other than ships in PvE content. Perhaps in some missions a level-appropriate container exists that you can salvage. Same for anomalies. I would also like to see more objects that can be looted once the NPCs have been cleared out. Right now there are sometimes targets of opportunity, but it would be nice if I could scan the objects in a range and see if they have contents or not -- not necessarily what's in there, but at least see what destructible objects can drop loot.

Any metal has value. It's just about time to extract it. This would add a lot more value to 'exploration'. Since you could then have it despawn on a timer after a mission is completed rather than instantly. Making the ninja salvager able to take a lot more from probing down a mission runner.

I would suggest that the abandoned stations and crap you find in missions are supposed to have been there for years. Thus, have already had anything of value stripped out by 'other salvagers / NPCs / etc'

Ships and stuff that have just been blown up - salvage is there for the first salvager to fly by.

However I fully support anything that expands the 'salvager' profession.

Unless it's stuff that just got blown up by the pirates. Why are there no victims really of these large pirate fleets?

i would love to salvage more than just wrecks of pvp and pve, makes it more interesting to salvage. Must be noted that salvaging atm is almost as borring as the hacker site minigame, god forbid if eve keeps that ****.

There were chance based salvaging exploration sites before Odissey. Were called magnometric.

Then with Odissey CCP removed exploration and replaced with that pac-man minigame.

In general CCP is progressively nerfing salvaging in the last year, I think the trend is to remove it

If they could bring them back, that would be nice. And to offer more variations, such as scanning one of those "Salvaging" sites and warping into the middle of a battle between two (NPC) third-parties who are so intent on blowing each other up that they ignore you. Or maybe they both turn and attack you if they're fighting over a particularly lucrative group of spawn containers (ie: other salvage). Either way, what you get is their salvage and some spawn containers as well.

NPCs that warp in and try to salvage the stuff before you can would be awesome as well, since it would force you to use a ship with more than just salvagers for weapons.
