Big Problems for small alliances, if you want a logo

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that if you took the shotgun out it would be approved. Just a guess.

Edit: After looking at the proposed alliance logo again it is very clear he's not carrying a shotgun. Whatever that gun-ish looking thing is, I'd be willing to bet they have some issue with guns.

then why doesn't ccp just say "take out the gun and it will be approved" instead of "not artistic"?

I don't think the gun is the problem with the logo - Get Off My Lawn have one in theirs.

Your problem might be more to do with using, essentially, a Star Wars jawa as your logo. If I was CCP I'd be wary about using what appears to be a character from another sci-fi universe in my game too, if not explicitly from an Intellectual Property legal perspective then certainly from the point of view of trying to maintain a distinct identity.

If they let a Jawa in they open up a can of worms - what happens when somebody submits a logo of the Starship Enterprise, or a Warhammer 40k Space Marine?

Every time you post a WiS thread, Hilmar strangles a kitten.

i support you 100 percent and you should have whatever logo you want for your alliance. I would suggest not changing the content of the image, but just giving it another pass.

no offense, really, but it looks like a real quicky done on MS paint. they might just have quality issues with it.

i cant see anyone taking issue with the slight "jawa" resemblance because to me thats clearly a NOMAD...not private intellectual property owned by disney... hehe

I also dont remember Jawa's carrying shotguns over their shoulders in any star wars movie.

Actually they don't seem to have issues with that kind of thing. It's the ... "lines" of the images that seem to impact what they approve.

The more computer precision in the drawings, the faster and easier they seem to be approved.

From the looks of it, I'd suggest small changes to what was done in their image - adjust the - N - and shadowing for more precision/aligned symmetry. That would probably get the logo approved without too many issues.

Symmetrical or Asymmetrical - that doesn't seem to matter but precision of images/rendering does.

I would just like to point out.

Maybe they were just being nice saying that it did not fit the artistic theme.

if they wanted to truthful they would have said the quality of that logo is pretty **** poor.

Maybe get somebody to do a better job of it and then it might be accepted? And maybe make it look less like a jawa...

and a distinct shoulder brace...and a distinct handgrip...and a distinct pouch hanging from it....know what happens when you get enough distincts? it becomes a different gun altogether

its a bad, low-bit ms paint drawing of a jawa trader with an ion blaster but whatever you see is, im sure, a valid interpretation. sorry to upset you with facts.

facts? since the only one who can actually for sure say what it is is the author of it and since you're not even in their corp I fail to see how you can declare what is and isn't facts? Now if a guy from Nomad comes here and says it's a ion blaster then ok it's an ion blaster...until then I'ma call it a shotgun.

I'm with CCP on this, your Logo looks like it was designed by a 5 year old, and as for "the theme of eve" I agree and disagree, I believe that if an alliance sells themselves as a specific image enough to justify using it as a logo even if it's not technically "in theme with eve" it should be allowed, for example, the fatbee has been a logo for goonswarm for as long as I can remember, and i'm sure they where using it before CCP did alliance logos. Same with Pandemic Legion, The Phage Logo is pretty distinctive, you see that icon anywhere as an eve player you'd recognise it as the PL logo. If I saw your logo on some guys t shirt in the street i'd go "ohhh look a star wars fan" not "oh look he's a remember of said alliance in eve".

I see, so a Jawa-looking figure with a gun is not "in the artistic theme of Eve" but a Bumblebee smoking a cigarette (Goons) IS.

Very consistent, CCP. Very consistent.

EDIT: And then there's TEST's T-Rex wearing a suit. Very much "in the theme of Eve."

You leave middle management dino alone. He's still arguably the best EVE logo in the game.
