PvP Hotkey Targeting

Hello! What is the hotkey (or combo of them) to automatically target someone in the system? Essentially I want to target someone as fast as possible after warping into a spot. I feel that I am always getting targeted first.

Thanks for any help/info/guidance!

There is no such thing as "automatically target someone in the system". The fastest way to lock someone is holding down CTRL and click on him in the overview (in space works, too). Do not hover with your mouse over the overview when waiting for someone to appear, though.
As long as your cursor is inside the overview field, the overview freezes. That makes it a lot easier to target someone when a lot of people are near, but as its freezed, newly arrived people wont appear until you move your cursor away.

Thanks for the tip about moving mouse out of overview! I will try CTRL clicking as opposed to the way I have been doing... which is selecting then pressing control... Seems like the same but I think having control already will save me a blip of time :)

You can actually click on one or more modules, liek your weapons and scrambler without having someone locked. This will set the modules in "stand by" and the first guy you lock will get these modules on him.

Not exactly true. The sorting will no longer refresh but new people on grid will still appear, but at the bottom of the list etc (regardless of range, if you set to sort by range etc)

You can use this to catch fast targets like frigs and pods by hovering just below the last entry on your overview when you blow up a ship to get the pod when it appears etc.
