The minigame is just a time sink like any other.

But is the the whole thing: pre-odissey exploration was a specific autonomous gameplay, used tohave his own technics, skill requirements, different ships and fitting; people had their own secrets and tricks, there were urban legends, sense of mistery, there were a culture. People was happy with it, and was the only decent PvE in EVE.

Odissey made everything trivial; skills and ship requirements are flatten out, you do everything with a standard fit, discovery scanner is dumb, and you are forced to play an external minigame in no way related to EVE.

This could be tollerable if was a new layer or entry-level for exploration, but instead they removed everything.

That's not the fault of the minigame or the loot spew tho. And the minigame is by far no time waster/killer. Actually, it speeds up the process a lot. Where I had to waste 5 minutes plus sitting on a can waiting for the hacker to eventually open it, I can now actively and faster open the can with some real interaction and not just mere sitting around. It's also more dangerous because you are distracted by the minigame and watch the local/dscan less often.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

I hate the loot spew thing. I stopped doing exploring over it. I do not like the feeling if I am not quick enough on choosing the right cans I might loose out on the most valuable stuff. I did exploration for ISK and the chance at a rare mod, not to test my mouse clicking reflexes.

Hacking mini game is fun, but I also hate the fact you loose site of most of your screen. If I was in null id avoid this cause it makes it harder to watch whats going on around me.

Also since I can no longer run around high sec in my Proteus like I used to probing stuff down and running sites I have given up on this part of the game entirely. I used to like it but now I could care less about it.

Neat idea but ya I agree the thing needs to go, or at least rework the hacking mini game so it does not take over your screen.

17 inch 1280x720 screen? The minigame takes up some 40% of my 1920x1080 screen, with enough space on the sides for Overview, Dscan, Chats, Neocom and locked objects.

The nerf of the highsec combat sites not allowing T3, however, is indeed a sad story. But on the other hand I can understand the ulterior motives because CCP and out of all the now fortunately gone Soundwave wanted to make this game more social and force players to play with each other than to be lone wolfs - completely forgetting that many players like being lone wolfs when it comes to that for instance.

The mini-game is ok, can be fun. For added entertainment with it, make some silly challenges for yourself while doing it.

The loot spew sucks though.

this!

mini game is fine but that you need multiple people to get all the loot sucks big time

I like it and getting the nice loot is easy enough by yourself, most of the cans don't have anything useful, I actually think it could do with a bit of a boost for the general items in a can to make sure most of the cans will hold something useful to increase duo's doing the sites.

I disagree

Mini game is ok initially, luck element sucks though, but the death combos should definately be programmed out.
Loot vomit ...... I cannot think of the words that can adequately describe just what a bad idea that is, no redeeming feature.
And yes i do know what cans to grab and what to ignore, It is not so much that it is difficult to get the goodies, I rarely miss the right cans, it is just.....unpleasant!
Even as a failiure mode it would feel awful.in fact I think a failiure mode that blew up half your shields and gave you nothing would be a more pleasant experience.

Where's the challenge if there is no loot rush? If the stuff is just ready for the grabs in a container that doesn't move, it's a lot less entertaining and unchallenging. Besides, from your frustration I gather that you try to catch every can that appears? How about not doing this and concentrating on the valuable cans? Also, without this minigame and thus pre-Odyssey, I was sitting sometimes up to 5 minutes on a Databank and was watching my Hacker run cycles like a mad dog in a cage. Is this what you like to have back? I don't.

I actually rather like the hacking minigame, and I hope CCP expands on hacking to make it useful against...other players?

If I recall they were also talking about being able to hold on to some of the utility subsystems and the like you find in databases and selling them on the market. Do want!

That's also what I like to see. Hack into anchored POS to transfer ownership for example. Or to interrupt/sabotage processes. Or to do the same with station services or ihubs/ihbu upgrades. Hacking and sabotage everywhere! This would then also justify training Hacking/Analyzing to V. Cool

That's an awful idea...it shouldn't be used offensively 'cus it would just be ridiculously OP'ed. And no transferring PoS ownership, that is awful. I think you should be banned for posting that...if that stuff is going to happen, millions will quit EVE and you don't even have that many players >.<

I disliked the game at first. Now I kind of like it. The more time someone spends with their face in that game and not watching their d-scan/overview, the more time I have to attempt to liberate their cargo.
