Feel free to drop by my stream when I'm on. I do a lot of Q&A with new players. I also recommend:

twitch.tv/lokoforloki
twitch.tv/rushlock

Hang around in this forum part and ask questions when you have them. There are a good bunch of forum regulars who dont mind helping new players out here on the forums. And most of them also dont mind if you contact them in game (be it by private convo, their player made chat channel or in some form of community channel - which ever is applicable).

Not many players will do strict personal mentorship though for 3 main reasons:

1. Game time may be different. Its of no use if you are not on when the mentor is and vice versa
2. Difference in interest. What the mentor likes to do, doesnt mean you will.
3. "Burden". People play for fun and sometimes they have a day where they want to do their own thing.

That said. Plenty of players are out there who dont mind helping new players, some even are docked in a rookie system and do nothing besides that...

And there is EVE Uni, they are 100% build to teach new players.

RvB is also known to be new player friendly. Though they are not a teaching community and are focused on PvP, they dont mind teaching the new players the fine art of (basic) PvP.

Help channel: Help chat - Reloaded

Public roams channels: RvB Ganked / Redemption Road / Spectre Fleet / Bombers bar / The Content Club

Join a corp, eve uni or perhaps brave newbies if you can't find a decent one. I am also happy to help out, but I have become a bit slack these days so don't log everyday.

Best bet for any new player is to chat to other players and join a player run corp for help, teamplay and greater interaction within the EvE universe.

someone that was willing to do this would probably want to know :

> what timezone do you mainly play in? Not much point all the euros and USTZ people getting in touch if you are in Australia e.g.

> what are you interested in? Broadly? Specifically? Don't know is an acceptable answer

i would recommend that you join eve-uni. they teach courses on just about everything there is to do in eve. from that experience, you'll learn what interests you most about this game.
