...an ugly old friend with a creepy cheek-tumor had some surgery to make his face and the tumor look badass:

Standard Raven is same but very dark metallic grey. Not sure about the Navy Raven's true colour because the ship viewer makes it look black as night in space.

and for the pictures, the golem looks cool enough to buy one just for the ship spinning, assuming I had the skills

So they didn't really do much to it at all then, just sharpened up the edges, and made it a little more pointy then changed the detailing on the skin.

I am dissapointed.

yeah... not gonna cross-train caldari for that. The ugliest part of it (the wingy bit that looks like a funky spider web) is still just as ugly.

How can you be dissapointed at this! It is hard for me to like any non symmetrical ship... but this is sooo pretty! It has that classic look without all the blocky akwardness. The main problem I had with the old one was that massive cockpit at the front which now looks fine ;D

Played around with it on sisi and I think I've found a new favourite ship.
I was worried they'd ruin the Raven, I always thought it was a cool ship except for the engines and the small cockpit area... which are exactly the bits which have been completely redone for the better Big smile

Now THAT is an EVE-online space ship! It looks cool in fact it looks awesome!

Nice going Raven modeller, you kept the essence of a raven and made it more awesome!

PS: (it being a golden hulled beauty did influence my opinion, slightly)

Looking at the old Raven model as it is now, I think the update is a million times better. The old model has some seriously aesthetically displeasing minor details that I don't think people notice. It has a lot of curves on it for a ship designed to have blocky utilitarian look. Some of the straight lines on the ship are also ever so slightly curved for no reason. Some of the edges look like they were molded out of plastic (just look at the rear cowling over the engine assembly). There are also those stupid metal pipes or exposed cables or whatever that serve no purpose but to make the ship look smaller than it is. I suppose the old Raven model is non-euclidean in a way, and that makes it kind of ugly. The new one has the sharp edges and angles that you'd expect from a stealth fighter, and it has more fine details to make it feel bigger. All of the pipes are gone too now.

Also as we don't have missile bays, I would love to know where on my Raven they launch from, really silly having a ship with no viewable launch bays (i.e. drake) that is a missile specialist yet nothing in the design reflects that role.

Its too small, size isn't everything but it does count for something! Only Ferox talk please and thank you!

Edit to the person above: There are plenty of holes on the raven that can launch missiles! Just look ;D

When you think about it (obviously a new experience for you), the imagination went into the original look of the Raven in the first place. It's unlike any sci-fi ship I ever saw before playing Eve.

Missile bays really need to work like turrets. Missiles should fire from bays that occupy turret slots.
