10 years later, you can afford a PLEX

Look at it this way - a well fit carrier doesn't cost more than a high-end L4 mission or incursion ship (Mach or Nightmare).

If players can afford those ships readily, what is so hard to see for affording a capital?

That's not high-end mission running, that's "let's see what kind of ridiculous **** I can fit to my ship and still get away with it."

I haven't bought nor priced the stuff in a while but here are the prices I paid.

Not quite "ridiculous". My mach fit is about 1.5 billion. Hull cost was about 1 billion and deadspace in a couple slots isn't that big a deal for a highsec ship. Carrier - hull + fit for 1.6 billion - T2 style.

Fully insured you get back around half the total costs of the carrier if it's popped - over 830 million but it costs over 200 mill to insure - worth it for the difference if you're going out with a carrier into combat.

Taking 1.6 billion and divide it by income per hour and you can figure out how long it would take to earn it.

At 60 mill/hr you're looking at about 27 hours "earning" to pay for a ship. Incursions, null ratting, mission running... 60 can be tough to reach some times so just adjust it to the level appropriate for your activity. At 6 hours gaming time per week, you'd be looking at a bit over 4 weeks per fully fitted ship. (and 6 hrs per week is *NOT* "hard-core" gaming)

Nothing ridiculous about that kind of layout nor cost - especially for chars that are able to fit & fly these kinds of hulls decently.

^ This is a problem, since the elite pvp n3/pl can't rely on having capitals. Because we can blob those pretty hard, they are rather affordable.

So you really need to get supercaps in order to see progodlegend's 0.0 dream. I doubt you will accomplish it by trying to blob battleships, sentry carriers or blap dreads.

Every suggestion in here except maybe the guy who said scamming is a ****** one. Corp theft is the way to roll. You ever hear about those guys who join random wormhole corps with an alt and leave like 3 hours later and make off with 10b+? Or the nulsec corp thieves that make 100b or more? Where else you going to make 3b an hour? ******* nowhere.

Be a man, embrace the darker side of EVE and make some actual money for once.

If you take your logic then sommer blink is the way to go , or haven't you heard about the guys who won titan bpo's and god knows what else with only a few minutes of their time invested in it.

On a sidenote the '' be a man '' line made me giggle ... because only thieves are reall men Roll.A miner takes more risk then a scammer or awoxer and that alone speaks volume .

No. In what way does some scrubby ******* pathetic miner take any risk at all? "oh they might lose a ship!" Oh golly gee no! That would be terrible! Go put your reputation and future in the game on the line then say anybody takes more risk.

Moon Goo, WH operations, or massive industry. Nothing else really comes close to being able to provide the isk flow to support a Cap fleet.
