Typhoon has 37.5 torp damage
vindicator has 37.5 hybrid damage

They both have the same fitting.

They both have 6 turrets and 2 missiles

one cost around 400m the other over a billion.

the winner is the typhoon for level 5's

the winner for level 4's is the vindicator.

so because of the price scam for the vindicator the typhoon wins all around...

and the typhoon is better at level 5's so why get a overly expensive ship for only level 4's

Well after reading that I can only say, what? Shocked

Anyways these 2 ships have nothing in common. Different tanks, different bonuses, different type of guns (missles on a Vindi, you on crack?) etc etc

They are both not made to do missions 4 or 5 (does anyone do 5s?)

Vindi kicks Fleet Phoons ass, unless it has neuts but then get a normal one or a Geddon for that matter eh?

So are their hull/armour/shield exactly the same?

Speed?

Cap?

Resists?

If they had identical stats for EVERYTHING then you can say they are the same....otherwise.....you're an idiot!

Ok, let's forget that the Vindicator has 8 (EIGHT) bonused guns to the Typhoon 6 launchers...

THE VINDICATOR IS A PIRATE SHIP! YOU CANNOT USE A PRATE SHIP FOR LEVEL 4 MISSIONS! IT VIOLATES THE EULA!

I'm 100% sure this guy is trolling. If he isn't he's pretty much the most clueless guy on this forum, and that's saying something.

There is a 99% chance you are right.

On the other hand he does have 1 good point.

The -much- cheaper TFI is 10 times better than the Vindi for lvl5s and almost comparable for lvl4s (but takes more skills and a rare skill combination to fly right. Many 70-80 mill SP chars and a few 100+ mill SP chars in the character bazzar can not fly a good TFI).

Thats about it for sanity, the rest of the OP is pure loonycakes.

Well I really cant see it be comparable for lvl 4's at least, I can't speak for lvl 5's since I never done them and don't know how they work.

Putting aside their differences in tanking ways I find another main thing to be applicable damage, if vindi goes for blaster fit the only way a TFI can get close to that dps is with torps and we know how bad torp dps is actually applied especially to an unbonused ship like TFI unlike blaster vindi whose guns not only track better but he has those op webs to pin down a target and unleash hell on it. I can see TFI having an upper hand if they went for long range, with cruise missiles having their new buffness and rail guns having that poor tracking and inability to chose damage type, in that case TFI I recon would come on top. But then again you could just go for RNI and woop em both when it comes to long range. I could see even the new domi outperforming them...

The relative pricing of the two ships is basically all down to demand; TyFI's can be run off by anyone with access to Tribal Liberation LP stores, which means basically anyone in Minmatar militia, while the only source for Vindicators is Serpentis space or BPC loot drops. That means that there are probably going to be a lot fewer Vindicators available on the market, and given the Vindicator's superior firepower as mentioned above (there is basically no point at all in putting missile launchers on a Vindicator), it's naturally going to command a hefty premium.

As to three TyFI's being able to beat one Vindicator ... well, first off, one person can't effectively fly three ships at the same time in combat, and a Vindi will be bringing a lot more raw firepower to bear, given that it's got the functional equivalent of eleven blasters and a nasty web bonus to hold a target in range, as opposed to some combination of autocannons and torpedoes, which is unlikely to put full DPS on the target, considering signature sizes for torps and falloff for autocannons.

So: nastier in combat + fewer on the market = premium pricing.

Really? I mean….what?

It is like comparing a MMA fighter with a super heavy weight boxer. One throws big heavy punches that are easily avoided by lighter boxers. The other will pin you down grab your junk and pound until you wake up in a fresh clone.

Wow. Lol
