Im trying PI for the first time, although i already have near perfect skills by a long time to do it

To place the setup in 0.0 ive come to the following

Can use 6 planets
Can deploy Elite CC
I have lv5 planetology and lv4 Adv. Planetology

I want to use this skills and make the best use of them by maximizing the extraction/production

1ECU - 10 Heads with a program of 2D and 2H that gives a cycle of 1H (im expecting to produce 51k/H of a P0 Material)
9 Basic Processors - produce almost 360 units/h ( i know that i will end up with a delta value since the processors need 54k/h
2 LP

Links - expecting 11/12 (with an average 50km of length, that will be higher on bigger planets like Gas

With this setup i still have almost 2200units of Power available and im not using half of the CPU available

1 -What do you guys recommend to maximize even further this setup?
2 - How to use the rest of the power available?
3 - Is a program set to 2days and 2 hours too much that will deplete the resources of the hot spot too fast?
3.1 -if it is, whats the ideal timer too keep resources controlled and extracting almost at the same rate?

I then plane to take the p1 and with an alt convert them to P2 and P3

With the amount of P0 that you are pulling, you should really have 1 launchpad for P0 and another for P1. If not, your launchpad will overflow very soon.

You should have enough PG/CPU left over to add an additional ECU. Then balance the number heads between the two. Increase the number of BIF's to handle the increased input.

In all, you should have 12-14 heads, 2xECU, 2xLP and enough BIF's to process it all.

Try to split the heads beween hotspots. This is where the second ECU helps. 10 heads on 1 hotspot will deplete it, even on a 2 day cycle.

Why 2D 2H?

Either 2D 1.5H @ 30mins if you're active or 3+D @ 60mins if you're not really.

You will need to upgrade your ECU-Launchpad link probably 3 times. (almost definately actually) This is where your excess power goes. Less so in 2 weeks time when they change the link volumes.

This is my standard WH setup.
Standard

This gives you 500 Grid length for your main line so you know how far you can go from your processors before you have to start dropping extractor heads.

The point is this:
Long Main Line
I can hit everything inside that circle without moving the main setup.

My standard P1-2 setup.
P1-2

EDIT:

I would never do a setup with less than 6 processors, that's only 36k/h anything less than that and you're going to have raw materials backing up very quickly.

Are you a hisec'er? Because there's no way in hell you can have an efficient setup with 2 ECU in Null or WH.

Hiseccers are used to pulling.. what 14k an hour? I think my best one so far was 64k/h on electrolyes. You're not making a P2 in 00 with any sort of efficiency using the one planet.

Hi-sec, you'll see raw extraction amounts between 9000 (a really rough Chirals planet) up to 24-30k per hour (some Water planets can sustain that long term, running 5 BIFs). But usually, you're in the 12-18k per hour range.

36-40k for me is a baseline, depending on planet and resource. If an ECU is pulling less than that I'm looking to move it.

This is a little off topic.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but the most recommended setup that I have seen involves one factory planet with the rest being planets extracting P1.

With the new changes to POCO, will that still hold true?

I am leaning towards planets that make P0 to P2s and then using command centers to launch to avoid needing a POCO for my low-sec planets.

Opinions?

I've read a bunch of things about the POCO tax rates etc, it honestly looks like a non event for lowsec. Who can honestly say if these things are going to be shot 'ferlulz' or not. Maybe in the first couple of weeks sure but I don't see it lasting.

As for the one factory planet -> rest extractors, I don't think that will work, but having no experience in lowsec with it, my opinion of it is worth little.

I can tell you what works in a WH though...and you can perhaps use that as a very rough guide in your own situation.

29 extractor installations (4 Chiral, 6 Heavy, 2&2 Electro/Plasma (these swap to Electro/Water when the need arises), the rest are some vain attempt to balance out the materials required, from Reactive/Precious Metals.

1x P1-P2 doing random stuff like rocket fuel. (when it pays or when I want it for missiles)
I swap this one out to do batches of Coolant and Uranium when either the P1 for those starts to take up too much room in the CHA or when I start getting low on those items.

4 P1-P2 making Mech Parts and Con Electronics
1x P2-P3 making Robotics for sale.

My main focus is making robotics for sale, and keeping at least 2 months (currently 4 months) worth of POS fuel.
With the planets I have I have no further capacity to make more robotics than I currently am, thus the reason for the Rocket Fuel as it's entirely seperate. My bottlenecks are Chiral, Precious Metals, and to a lesser extent Heavy Metals.

Since every planet is going to be giving you different extraction rates despite using the same setup everywhere, you can't really spreadsheet it with any sort of accuracy week to week.

I went along quite nicely for months and now all the sudden my Prec Metals, Chirals and Toxics are backing up and I have a shortage of reactives, so I've had to swap out 2 Prec Metals for Reactives. Even though I've changed nothing, it needs continual monitoring or you will find that all the sudden you have 600k Prec Metals backed up and no Fkin Reactives...

God I must be bored....waiting for Skyrim to DL.

The OP stated that he intends producing P1 only. With his skills, he needs at least 2 ECU's to pull enough P0 for the number of BIF's he can run.

Single planet P0->P2 is an entirely different issue.
